I scored 115-113 for Alvarez after he brought the fight being the aggressor and having done all the body punching. I was really expecting Lara to throw more punches and to impress so there wouldn't be any doubts of his "superiority" but the truth is Lara disappointed me by throwing one punch and running a whole circle on the ring backpedaling and only once in a while throwing a combination. Rather than standing on his ground, Lara preferred leave in the minds of the judges that he was in such defensive mode because Alvarez body punches were effective. Lara talked too much garbage and kept saying this was the most important fight of his life, however, he blew it by doing too much running (and I don't think any TV network would like his style at all).

Yes 117-111 is bogus but comparing what lara landed to what canelo landed is absolutely laughable. I agree. First: Lara didn't take advantage by being so cautious lacking being more offensive and overdoing being defensive with his excessive running. Second: People confuse popularity with greatness. Alvarez has many followers because a TV network built his image but he is not in the same league of any of Mexico's ATG. He is well behind them.

You all give too much merit to what you hear on TV from the commentators who are supposed to be "experts". Paulie Mags was the ONLY one up there being real and it's because he's a fighter at the end of the day so he knows the politics of the sport and has openly been against it as he's spoke out about it many times. The rest of those tools are affraid to lose their jobs so they always speak up for the house fighter whomever it may be. Paulie though can go fight and make hundreds of thousands to a mill if he gets fired from broadcasting so he's not in fear of losing his job, just tells it how it is. I love that about him. Max Kellerman used to be that dude until he got on the payroll. Paulie is the realest and my favourite commentator in boxing right now and Cannoli Alvarez is a sham.

I dont agree with the 117-111 scoredcard but canelo won by 1-3 rounds easily. I mean lara just completely ran and wasn't throwing enough. How much of a dumbass can you be? I mean even paulie said it was a difficult fight judge. Did you hear the international feeds what they were saying about lara not active enough and too much running.

Honestly I taught lara was going to do more but he really dissapoint3d alot of people. Like one guy from britain said he can't just go out there and pinch the rounds

You must also think Ali and sugar ray suck since they both applied really good foot work, fought off their back foot and "boxed" yes boxed! You probably like to see fights in a phone booth for 2 reasons: 1. a slugfest 2. To see two guys close together

The TRUTH is Lara made Canelo look bad, by making canelo miss a lot. But If Canelo doesn't chase Lara down and throw punches then he wouldn't be missing any shots and there wouldn't be a fight at all. Moving side to side and making your opponent miss is ok. But when that's all you're doing... well you can say... If the other guy doesn't throw then there wouldn't be any punches to be missing with.. in other words if Canelo didn't bring the fight and throw punches there would just be two guys running around a ring looking at each other. So for that you have to give it to Canelo. If this was a CHAMPIONSHIP BOUT where Lara was the champion, then yes Canelo has to BRING IT and TAKE IT AWAY from the champion. But it was just a REGULAR BOUT. Two guys fighting in a REGULAR BOUT. So Canelo didn't have to bring it to Lara. And Lara definitely didn't bring it to Canelo.... On the other hand if Lara was Mayweather in this fight, everyone knows Mayweather would have won. With that said.. I still say Canelo won for being the aggressor and the one looking for the fight. It wasn't a championship fight.. he didn't have to look for lara at all.

I am just getting back from the theater. There was still a two groups of guys talking there when I left. When the fight was over most people in the theater did not look happy. I personally had Lara up by two rounds, and that seemed to be the stance that most people in group 1 had. Group 2 felt Canelo easily won... As far as the running goes, Lara absolutely ran for about three rounds, and Canelo won those three rounds. Lara ran because the eye was bothering him, as well as the body punches. Was it a popular or exciting tactic, no, but it was effective. Most of us felt that Lara edged it but a draw would have been ok. I would not have agreed with a Canelo victory, but I would not be too angry at a close Canelo win, but that last scorecard should get Levi Martinez ( CJ Ross with a wig) investigated. A rematch is definitely warranted, but the great savior of boxing Dudley Do Right De La Hoya is not going to allow it.

the cards that had it split 115-113 for each fighter were good cards because it really could have went either way. my problem is the 117-111 scorecard, no way did canelo beat lara 9-3 in rounds in my eyes, thats absurd had the 3rd judge scored it 115-113 canelo i dont think anyone would have a problem with the outcome...its the 117 card that has people yelling robbery...that said there was no robbery in this fight....a draw was the perfect score though
