How do you know Floyd wasn't already preparing? He is the one issuing the rematch not Maidana.

Yeah how about Castillo - Mayweather I. Roy v Tarver not even close. Tarver taller and longer than Roy. Roy was in terrible shape (in the preflight interview he said he was at 70%). That fight was close Maidana v Mayweather was not. Now Castillo v Mayweather, you have something there.

Although it was obvious the rematch was going to happen, since Mayweather has no other options, but obviously someone was trying to drag this out way longer then it should have been, hoping Maidana wouldn't start training until contracts were signed and has gotten fat and lazy inbetween fights.

Mayweather knew he was fighting September 13, Maidana didn't.

He wasn't in terrible shape -- just older and slower.

Hell yeah. That would shape up to be a very fun ppv.

Certainly better than facing Chris Algieri with Zou Shiming on the undercard.

The fact that people thought the first fight was close really has worked out for everyone involved.

Mayweather has an excuse to fight a guy like Maidana again who he'll beat even easier this time.

                  Maidana gets another payday.

Showtime doesn't have to worry about marketing a new opponent.

a dirty fighter, wonder if he's gonna try to use his knees again, while his corner implores him to fight dirty. Guess thats part of the plan if you know you cant win fair and square. He knows he cant outbox Floyd, he knows he cant hurt Floyd, as we saw in the first match. Now when Floyd uses his boxing skill and beats him and win 9-3 rds you will say he ran, but the first fight you said he couldnt "box" because chino wouldnt let him. But its a "robbery" because he won 3 rds total, Cotto made Floyd's nose bleed so he won, it was a robbery, people were on here saying Guerrero was a "robbery", Canelo was a "Robbery" and so on and so forth. you guys are worth a good laugh

Everyone knew floyd was fighting 9/13. Maybe the waited to announce now because a big PPV is saturday. this way they can publicize it durng the broadcast and by not announcing it earlier it didn't take away from that show.

Again, if you knew floyd had no other options, so did Maidana. SO he would have already started training since, he as you said, knew floyd had no other options.

                      At least hate intelligently dude.
