Went back on his word. Ellerbe came out the day after Floyd said that and retracted Floyd's statement. Kevin Iole says on twitter Ellerbe himself told him that Golden Boy will be co-promoting.

At the end of the day its all about business. If it makes financial sense for both Floyd and GBP to co-promote then they'll go that route.

yeah floyd and ODH can't stand each other-but they make each other rich beyond belief. As such, they will always find a way to work together since both love money (and fame and coke and hookers and strippers and fishnets and ostrich boots-all which cost) more than they hate one another.

A late announcement gives BOTH fighters less time to prepare. If anything Showtime most likely forced the issue. They have secured dates for Mayweather under their contract and need him to fight in September.
