  • Pac you my boy and ride or die till end BUUT so sick of him being a yes man, and selling out for money.
If he actually cared about his ending legacy and for the fans, all he had to do was sit out and not resign with Top Rank. I will lose alot of respect for him for accepting a non deserving fight by Algeri.
He could have been a leader and set the stone by ending this ****** "cold war" by fighting a Golden boy fighter. dont matter who at least golden boy and set the standard, but once again Pac gobbles Bob Arums old saggy bawls

      • This fight is about as bad as Mayweather-Guerrero, but atleast Floyd had the excuse that it was his first fight out of jail.

Algieri is a huge step down in competition compared to the likes of Bradley and Marquez. WTF i thought the cold war is over, ****ing GBP and their internal bull****.

I just want to see Pac fight some of the Goldenboy roster.

Well Devon outboxed Maidana easy with a jab and a ton of lateral movement which is exactly what Algieri does best so I beg to differ. And no I don't see all that much improvement from Maidana since he hooked up with Garcia except that he uses the jab more and is a little dirtier. Floyd could've easily outboxed Maidana by establishing his jab and using the ring the way he did against Guerrero and Canelo, but he wanted to give the fans a good show and beat Maidana at his own game which is pretty much what he did.

The weight doesn't matter to Chris Algieri. Just like the guy in your avatar, it's the skills that pay the bills.

It's a huge opportunity for the local fighter who came up in club shows and cutting his teeth at the Paramout Theatre in Huntington. The offer is for seven figures on HBO Pay-Per-View.

Bob Arum of Top Rank has made a formal offer to Long Island's Chris Algieri to face Manny Pacquiao on Nov. 22 in Macao, China, continuing a string of incredible good fortune for the Huntington native, the Daily News has learned. Arum and Algieri's promoter, Joe DeGuardia said an agreement could be reached in the coming days.

"We have a Pacquiao offer on the table and we are negotiating that actually as we speak," DeGuardia said in a phone interview Tuesday afternoon. "And I expect that we're going to have a resolution within the next day or two."
DeGuardia declined to go into details on the deal but said it's a seven-figure offer to Algieri, who would be rising in weight to challenge Pacquiao for his WBO welterweight belt. The bout will be shown on HBO Pay-Per-View at the Venetian Casino, where Pacquiao fought Brandon Rios last year.

Arum expects to talk to DeGuardia again Wednesday and said that Artie Pelullo, who has options on Algieri, is traveling to Arum's home in Los Angeles, where Arum is on the mend from knee replacement surgery, to help finalize the deal.
"I hope we'll be able to get Joe on the phone and we'll be able to button this up," Arum said in a phone interview. "We're talking serious now with the idea of making the fight. It's not [BULL]. Now, whether it gets made or not I don't know."

Arum wouldn't say if Algieri (20-0, eight knockouts) is the only fighter he's made an offer to face Pacquiao. DeGuardia wouldn't say, either. "But I can tell you the fight is there for Chris," the Bronx-based promoter said. "The fight is there for Chris."

A fight with Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 knockouts) would be an incredible windfall for Algieri, who's gone from performing in club shows and cutting his teeth at the Paramount Theatre in Huntington to now the top candidate to face Pacquaio. He was impressive in upsetting former WBO junior welterweight champion Ruslan Provodnikov June 14 at Barclays Center, boxing with his right eye completely shut for most of the bout.

"It's the best possible fight out there for Chris," DeGuardia said. "He did great in the Ruslan fight and he did great there but fighting Pacquiao puts him on a completely different level and a win against Pacquiao makes him a star, a legitimate and true star."

Bob and Manny are making me hate TR even more. Outside of pacquiao, at least Floyd fights the most deserving fighters. Fought Ortiz, guerrero, mosley, Canelo and maidana to name a few, after big victories. Pacquiao keeps fighting dudes coming of losses or after beating the over hyped machine provodnikov. Disgusting

                • Wouldn't be surprised to see this fight at 140lbs for Algieri's title and Pacquaio staying there and closing out his career at 140. Seriously think they are going back down a division to find the k.o.'s again. Winner of lamont vs Garcia early 2015 getting Pacquaio at 140 mid next year.

                  • FINALLY THE FIGHT WE HAVE ALL WANTED SINCE 2009!!!

I dont know if any of you guys know the back story to this fight but Algieri-Pacquiao was signed back in 2009, billed "Fight of the Century." But unfortunately Pacquiao did not comply with Algieri's strict drug testing requirements and the fight was called off. Both went off and fought multiple world champions. In 2012 Algieri offered PAcquiao the oppurtunity to fight him again on his classic Cinco de Mayo PPV. Algieri offered Pacquiao a $40m flat fee pay day with no percentage of the PPV revenue. (Im no accountant but it kind of baffles me how Algieri who still hasn't paid off his college loans, can offer Pacquiao $40m to fight him.) Pacquiao wanted a 50/50 split of the PPV revenue and the fight could not be made again. Algieri went on a fought the likes of Miguel Cotto, Robert Gurerro, Canelo Alvarez and Marcos Maidana in a dominating fashion.

But Finally both parties could put their issues aside and made the fight we have all wanted for years. Begged for. I am honored to spend my hard earned money on this absolute "Fight of the Century"..... "Pacquiao-Algieri"

Let's just say this is like a Floyd vs. Trout, whereas Floyd wouldn't dare be in the ring with a Trout, Manny will actually fight his Trout.
man, sit your dumba$$ down.......pacf@gs will justify anything. this is a **** fight, i called this before the algieri-provo fight......i knew pac was gonna cherrypick algieri once he beat that overrated hypejob provo.
