Yes. Someone did say that they weren't paid anything to switch gloves. Two people in fact. Robert Garcia (Maidana's Trainer) and Sebastian Contursi both confirmed in two separate interviews that Maidana wasn't paid any money for the gloves situation. They were accusing him of try to cheat. Why would they pay him to not cheat? It makes absolutely no sense.

I wonder if Floyd would still be undefeated if he didn't have tons of advantages for each fight.

I didnt make this up. Read Bruh!....

Although neither side would disclose the terms of the deal -- or even admit that there was one -- sources with knowledge of the situation told ESPN.com that Mayweather agreed to pay Maidana an additional $1.5 million to change gloves. That doubled Maidana's official purse, which was $1.5 million on his Nevada contract. However, sources told ESPN.com that Maidana was guaranteed $4.2 million and wound up earning at least $5.7 million, including the payment for the gloves change.

Mayweather himself said he would be fighting Maidana a second time when he was interviewed at the BET Awards red carpet last week.

Their first encounter proved to be an exciting affair but the big story heading into the fight was there was probably not going to be a fight at all as Team Mayweather had an issue with the gloves Maidana was going to use in the fight. The padding in Maidana’s custom Everlast MX gloves were called into question by Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe and even a second pair approved by the commission was rejected by Team Mayweather.

Hey d!ck heads tell me this... if the gloves are reason u say he couldn't knockout Floyd (and let's just forget the fact that he still fought w puncher's gloves)... then why couldn't he at least buckle him? Answer that d!ckheads. And he couldn't do that even w all the behind the head n nut shots

Ask Floyd since he was the one threatening to pull out of the fight if Maidana didnt change them. Obviously he felt they would make a difference or else he would not had made a big deal about them.

i think at that point mayweather and his team lost trust in maidana and his team and thought some shady stuff was possibly going on...but maidana did end up wearing everlast pro lock gloves in the fight!so he did wear everlast gloves against floyd.
