If you watched the ppv and saw the footage of the glove fiasco, there was a part when Floyd was walking out and venting about how its no wonder Maidana is knocking everyone down and its because he's been wearing gloves with no padding in them.

You're right. I forgot about that. That's when they identified the first pair which were not approved. Well I hope Maidana wears an approved pair of MX gloves this time. I don't think it will make a big difference but you never know.

just a thought, as for fans who put a lot of money on betting stations, i wonder how they feel when they got to know that the fighter to whom they have placed their money on was suddenly put on a handicap....

Typical Floydism by the media. The fact that there have been all of these different stories in the media about this gloves thing is what is more outrageous than any fact in the story. Maidana and his team trying to sneak in gloves with the padding shifted around at the knuckle is the most outrageous fact within the story. The rest is run of the mill. The multitude of stories about it are absurd because on most big fights the corner of each fighter will come and examine the other fighters gloves and if they see something that they don't like they will ask for a change or redress.

As good as maidana did the first time, he should be able to pick his own gloves as long as they are th in regulation standards of the athletic commision.. and he should get double or triple the money as a fight purse, i mean maidana has come along way since the ortiz fight and deserves some extra perks imo...

Yes but he had to bribe Maidana to change the gloves. It was Maidanas choice to either accept or decline given the fact that the commission gave him the go ahead to use the 2nd pair of gloves. Given Maidanas situation I guess an extra $1.5mil was worth changing gloves for.

Some of you guys are just ridiculous. And the only reason this is a problem because its floyd. All the man is trying to do is make sure everything is on the up and up. Haterz just wanna see floyd get margaritoed. Miadanas gloves looked su****ious in their first fight. Now had he knocked floyd out and they discovered the gloves had been tampered with, then everyone wiould be "he should ve checked the gloves". Anybody remember the panama lewis luis resto incident? Floyd is the a side so miadana has no power to tell anyone what to do. Take the gloves or take a walk. Floyd will be wearing the same gloves.
