You can't possibly be this obtuse. No one said they weren't paid to switch gloves. But the 1.5m amount sounds ridiculous, is ridiculous, has been refuted and was a rumor. So YES, it was a rumor.

Yes. Someone did say that they weren't paid anything to switch gloves. Two people in fact. Robert Garcia (Maidana's Trainer) and Sebastian Contursi both confirmed in two separate interviews that Maidana wasn't paid any money for the gloves situation. They were accusing him of try to cheat. Why would they pay him to not cheat? It makes absolutely no sense.

Wow. You're fabricating. Maidana was not given any EXTRA money. Yes 1.5 million was his purse for the fight but he didn't receive an additional 1.5 for not being allowed to where the MX glove. "You ain't got to lie Craig."

While the fight has not been officially announced, a rematch between the sports pound for pound king Floyd “Money” Mayweather and Marcos “Chino” Maidana looks likely to take place on September 13th at a site yet to be determined. Mayweather himself said he would be fighting Maidana a second time when he was interviewed at the BET Awards red carpet last week.

Their first encounter proved to be an exciting affair but the big story heading into the fight was there was probably not going to be a fight at all as Team Mayweather had an issue with the gloves Maidana was going to use in the fight. The padding in Maidana’s custom Everlast MX gloves were called into question by Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe and even a second pair approved by the commission was rejected by Team Mayweather.

Excuses ppl maybe if dana landed a punch that shook floyd id say ok u might have a story but he didnt not once so why complain bout gloves when dana couldnt hit floyd hard an clean anyway.

Ask Floyd since he was the one threatening to pull out of the fight if Maidana didnt change them. Obviously he felt they would make a difference or else he would not had made a big deal about them.

floyd will not allow maidana to wear everlast gloves period! the 2nd pair of gloves was approved by the comission, why did floyd still said no then?

i think at that point mayweather and his team lost trust in maidana and his team and thought some shady stuff was possibly going on...but maidana did end up wearing everlast pro lock gloves in the fight!so he did wear everlast gloves against floyd.
