Believe you me Floyd would have been sued up the wazoo! There was no way he was pulling out at that point.
floyd will not fight him period. this is not the first time floyd pulls something like this. its his way or the high way when he feels threaten. im sure floyd would have to pay a fine. etc but he'll be off the hook easliy. if floyd pulled out yes mgm, showtime, etc will lose out on a lot of money. but if they x'd floyd out they will lose out on even more money. so think about it. like someone mention last week, floyd could fake a last minute injured, etc. floyd will get away with it, im sure showtime would have a talk with floyd about it but nothing serious will come out of that.

I dont really care to be honest. Maidana and Garcia are the dumb ones. Once the commission approved of the gloves they should have stuck to thier guns and told Floyd to go kick rocks. If they accepted Floyd's bribe to wear different gloves then they gave up every right to cry about it.
This. There's no way Floyd could pull out of the fight that close to the date without major repercussions. Too much money was generated that weekend to throw down the drain over a minor issue.

The first pair wasnt approved, and they werent worn so no foul-play done. The second pair were approved, and werent worn, so here's the foul-play. Floyd's doing his small boy stuff again. It is what it is.

Al Haymon and the networks (Showtime) would have been finished with Maidana. Maidana will lose it all and Floyd would face minimal repercussions, because between them, Floyd is the indispensable one over at the Showtime/Al Haymon side of things as far as business goes. Everyone knew this, and this is why things happened the way they did and now that floyd has set the precedent, no one will be allowed to use those MX gloves again, and maybe any other gloves floyd deems unacceptable for him.

                Damaging his legacy? Ok guy.

The "Argentina Blue" gloves were not approved by the commission, if memory serves me correct. Not sure why any "fan" would be up and arms about it?

Gloves are not why Maidana lost the first go around and won't be the reason he loses this time either.

there will be repercussuion no doubt about it. but it will not be anything big or harsh. floyd is their money maker. team maidana will not win the stand off against floyd of not fighting if they dont get to use the gloves they want. if floyd agree to let them use their gloves to save the fight im sure they will knock off a huge chunk off of maidana's check. or if maidana was promise anything extra, he will not get it had he try to go up against floyd on the glove issue.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) agreed and said that they would not allow the gloves. The Maidana camp switched to the "stock" red Everlast MX gloves. These were approved by the NSAC, but the Mayweather camp continues to object, saying that they aren't going to fight if Maidana wears the Everlast gloves.

Team Mayweather is attempting to force Maidana to use Grant gloves, the same that Mayweather uses. Everlast are known as "puncher's gloves," preferred by most of the sport's heavy hitters while Grants are a favorite of men like Floyd, who have a history of hand injuries.
