Short-term, he benefits the boxer.

Given Al Haymon's history of providing horrible fights, he is definitely bad for boxing. These mismatches plus overpaying the boxers will cause everyone (from the promoters, the networks, and the fans) to lose $$.

It's definitely not good for the fans.

He is not good for the promoters or the networks. Just witness GBP, HBO, SHOW to make profits from this. Long term wise, network will find other promoters to work with.

He was good for some of the fighters, at least until recently. Boxers like Berto and Arreola weren't really wold-class, yet they were very well-paid.

But overall he's bad for the sport, because there are too many mismatches. Fans want competitive fights.
