People need to stop using Angulo as a comparison. Angulo is a walk forward and throw fighter. Alvarez is not. Alvarez boxes, it's highly doubtful he suddenly becomes a pressure fighter and it works.

The flip side is that if Trout's crappy volume gave Alvarez problems, than Lara can, ignoring that Lara is not a volume puncher.

Yeah people need to stop comparing them. Polar opposites.

Canelo NEEDS to put pressure on to win this fight though. If he attempts to box the entire time then he's not going to win.

Box, but he's got to take it to him when he can. Combinations. Going to be hard for him to do that though.

He has his flaws absolutely, he is not unbeatable or anything. I don't think he deals with Pressure or Inside Fighting well to be honest. Carlos Molina gave him serious problems because Molina got inside and just roughed him up. Angulo even though his footwork is ****, he can apply relentless pressure.

The problem with Canelo and his match up with Lara is that he is not a Pressure Fighter nor is he all that great fighting inside. This was the problem with Trout Matching Up With Lara. He wasn't quick enough to out-box Lara from the outside and inside fight is not really in strength.

Yes Lara has his Flaws, another thing is that when the pressure is on and he is getting hit to much he starts to fight with just his left hand and completely off of his back foot. But I think he will try to put on a show against Canelo.

Alvarez will have to adapt the style of Angulo in order to do what Angulo did..Which means counters will be there, and I don't think Alvarez wants to eat counters all night..He seems like he may get discourage from being touch to much(it's a similar thing that Victor Ortiz has)I won't label him with this just yet..Yet when he fought May I seen some traits of this,I hope I'm wrong..Cause Lara is bound to touch him..

angulo broke laras rhytmn donmega? i dont see that....

i see an angulo who is very good at cutting off the ring and coming forward with little caution - will take one to get inside

i see a lara whose foot movement was not on point in that fight vs the super pressure fighter in angulo

edit: thinkin more about it, i see what you mean donmega

angulo wasnt lettin lara fight and not fight when he wanted to at times

but in this fight, lara will be the one disrupting canelos rhytmn

Angulo has some of the worst footwork I've ever seen anywhere. I swear, it's like he fights with clown shoes on.

I still can't believe Perro caught up to Lara; but Alfredo was absolutely relentless, and his stamina was seemingly inexhaustible.

So I was thinking about it last night. Trying to replay all the Lara fights in my head. I couldn't help but feeling they were all pretty much the same. Usually 1,2's and some good counter punching. But all of the same variety all at the same pace and all the same rhythm.

For me Canelo has showed different wrinkles in each and every fight minus the Floyd fight. Canelo is a boxer first it appears but he can switch it up and apply enough pressure when needed.

You guys have to remember loosing to Floyd is not a major setback. But loosing to Lara would be IMO. If things should get too rough for canelo in there, I'd imagine were gonna see that Mexican heart on full display.

Don is right. Canelo is going to stalk intelligently and throw swift combination punches to open/get through Lara's guard and he will find Lara's opening just like Angulo's slow ass did.
