He has to be really careful here though, because although he's right that nobody can ever accuse him of ducking, this is not something that a majority of today's fighters care to hear.. The fighters of today want to take the least amount of risk for the most amount of money, and while this is not necessarily good for the fans, it's great for the fighters and that's why they all love Al Haymon. To put it simple.. The "For the fans" approach that Oscar is preaching could backfire on him if the fighters turn against him. IMO Oscar really should contact HBO and get some fights setup on premium cable's premier Network.. It's smart business and great exposure for his fighters.
There's one thing wrong with that approach; only the superstars of the sport are getting paid big money for BS fights. The up and comers are stifling their careers by trying to pick and choose the "safe" fights. Those fights can't generate enough revenue for big paydays, because those in the know won't buy or sponsor that garbage. As a result, these "safe" fighters only fight once or twice a year for peanuts.

thats not true at all. He's just talking like this right now in this specific moment but everyone is trying to paint him as a saint when he's really been just as bad as the others if not worse. Oscar was known for pimping guys in negotations when he was a fighter. Everyone forgets that. Oscar was also argubaly the guy who started the cold war. He hated hated hated Arum far before Floyd even came along. Him & Arum were throwing mad jabs at eachother and he didnt want to work with Bob at all.

He's probably the one who instructed Schaffer to stop dealing with Arum but everyone is acting like all these other guys are the villans. Thats not even including the drugs, crossdressing, **********s, being a figure head, and going into rehab while others kept his business afloat. Thats also not even inlcuding his son that he never even aknowledges when he's suppose to be a so called changed man. The kid should come before fixing boxing. He's not the saint that people are making him out to be but Im rooting for him to get it together and hope he can pull it off because its still good for boxing. I dont at all trust him to do it though

SO De La Hoya is not going to hire another CEO? He's going to take over for Shaeffer, say it ain't so.

Also, if Richard is under contract to GB until 2018, that means they still have to pay him something, and by something I assume a whole ****ing lot

The only money he can get now is from his 15% ownwrship on the company, he quit as a CEO he was not fired, so there should be no compensation for not working

I don't like the move of Not hiring another CEO ether. I could be wrong but from Oscar's resume there's nothing on there that would lead me to believe that he can successfully operate and grow a multinational. multimillion dollar company in a sport that's prone to sudden changes.

I've said it before, most fighters get paid beyond what the sport can afford. I'm not judging the fighters because I would be doing the same thing as them but as a whole boxers expect to get paid like other athletes in the football, soccer, basketball, and baseball.
