Naw man all of his fans were singing Pedros praise when Cotto was winning, then when he loses all of the sudden he needs a new trainer...and when he loses again once he fights a live body Roach will be blamed and firedComment

Some people are kind of dumb and think Cotto is a "reinvented fighter". Floyd would probably have an easier time with him than in the first fight if anything. Cotto isn't a MW, never has been.
It's easy for a stagnating and overrated to begin with fighter to look amazing against TBA and a guy who can't walk.Comment

You've got to be kidding me.....What makes you think Mayweather doesn't adapt his style to avoid Cotto's left hook? Roach sure did a great job with Provodnikov....oh wait that's right Provodnikov just relies on throwing power shots and his defense sucks as to why he got out boxed by ****in Algieri. Amir Khan with roach got tko'd by Garcia of all people. Manny with roach got knocked out by Marquez. It's a reoccurring thing with Roach, his fighters are too offensive minded and walk into shots because they're too concentrated on getting off first. Manny has slowed down with his offense and he is definitely more defensive minded since getting KO'd by Marquez so I do see that Manny has improved under Roach. Bottom line though to say Cotto, Roach, and Macmillan?? are unstoppable sounds pretty ridiculous especially after Cotto fighting the almost 40 year old Martinez who has two really bad knees at this point and hadn't fought in a year. When Cotto walks through GGG then I will agree that he is unstoppable at Middleweight for the foreseeable future.Comment

Floyd was picking Cotto apart and the only reason Cotto got any of his shots in was because Floyd was on the ropes just chillin like he always does.
I'm guessing many don't care to re-watch the fight for reference, because its all there. Cotto was so embarrassed that he left the ring totally frustrated.
A second fight would be easier for Floyd because he knows for certain where the shots need to be and where they are, because Cotto's fighting style hasn't changed one bit.
And as a matter of fact, both he and Floyd have diminished physically over the last few years - so I don't see how any Trainer can change the effects of father-time. (Just doesn't work that way)Comment

He isn't a reinvented fighter under Roach, he's just more back to the basics that made him one of the best in the world a few years ago. I mean even Roach said this much.
And this back to basics approach is what us Cotto fans are happy with, because it's what most likely made him our favorite fighter all those years ago.
Hey man look, we all thought he was done after the Trout fight. He was fat, out of shape and was more gassed than usual after like 4 rounds. I honestly thought he'd get a farewell fight in PR and call it a day, but he's got one last lease on boxing life. He took a fight that 70% said he would lose and he won, and nobody on this board can take that away nor take back your predictions. The circumstances are irrelevant, since plenty said that a 50% Sergio is still to big and strong.
Plenty said that if Trouts average self can make Cotto look bad, imagine Sergio. So Cotto proved that he's not quite done. I don't know how long this ride will last, it could be over the next fight, don't know and don't care, but I'm enjoying the hell out if it. So War Cotto. Bring on GGG, May, Pac, Bradley or whoever. Line em up and Cotto will go fight, he may win, or he may not, is fans of his don't care because at least he was willing to try.Comment
