On the real - Screw Erislandy Lara!

Is anyone else tired of this whiny entitled guy who seemingly can't appreciate how above and beyond Golden Boy has done for a guy who's style, appearance and uncanny ability to lay an egg when it matters most has done for him. Looking at the stable of fighters Golden Boy - it's hard to find many other fighters they've gone out of their way for. Now, he's involved in one of the largest fights of the year - and he's still whining.

I mean lets be real - it takes more than just being an average-to-good boxer to be marketable.

-He speaks ZERO english - but wants to be on American TV

-He's butt ugly - let's be honest, if you have a face fit for Radio, and not TV - then you'll be a hard sell. You don't need to be the next member of N'Sync, but a modicum of decent looks helps propel someone. And not just in boxing - but all sorts of TV entertainment, from NFL to Hollywood.

-Small base of fans -- Boxing is already a niche sport at this point. I mean the average non-PPV show on HBO and Showtime can draw around 700-1.5M viewers. That's on the "free" TV. PPV is smaller unless Manny or PBF are fighting. Within' that relatively small amount of dedicated boxing fans - Cuban Americans don't seem to be out in force like say Mexicans or Ricans - or say the Euro fans for their fighters. It's just a small market and everyone is trying for a tiny peice of the pie. He literally does nothing else to separate himself from the pack.

    - "Style" -- Granted - he's a decent boxer. He's not great, but he's not bad. But overall, he usually has a safety first approach to the sweet science, which is all in well - so how does he attempt to stand out from the pack? He's not the type to go in for the kill when he can, so it's not like fans can expect a finishing attempt from him.

    - ZERO charisma -- so, he's ugly, doesn't speak english, has a boxing style that requires a come forward fighter with zero defense to make it engaging for him and on top of all that, he has ZERO personality. He's not an engaging personality. Remember the press conference for Canelo he tried to 'crash'? He looked like a fan begging for an autograph, instead of demanding a fight. It was sad.

And finally - lets just be real about his run of top opposition and this "murderer's row"

-Carlos Molina - he drops a dud and gets a draw
-Paul Williams - a guy who was crushed by Sergio - seemingly shot and he takes an L - which admittingly, he should have narrowly won. But still - P.Will at this point was just through some wars.
    - he fights two cans, back to back in unengaging affairs; then
-V. Martiyosan - another big step up fight - another dud from Lara
-Angulo - gets dropped, on his way to an L - but thankfully Angulo breaks from an injury.
-Trout - so Lara finally has a good performance, in like two years at the upper echelon. So in two years, he finally has a full performance against a good fighter

And the dude then gets rewarded for that performance with a Canelo fight.

So tell me again why he's whining? He got his big fight from the only decent performance he's put on - instead of whining - he should be on his knees slurping the boxing gods that he's getting a big check from the a**whipping he's in line to receive

    Does anyone else agree? Thoughts

    If TL:DR

Lara is vastly overrated and has only ever dropped duds. He finally has a big win and now gets his shot. He has zero market appeal - just shut up and be happy that you got the big fight - go perform.

Cotto is one ugly dude - but the other things he has going for him - outweigh the fact that he has a face only a mother...and a nuthugger could love

I mean, he did get passed over in favor of Josesito Lopez. Wasn't he the mandatory too?

But he finally got the fight and it is bigger now than it would have been then. So it goes both ways.

            Only a f*g would care about a fighter's looks.

Lara was winning on the cards at the time of the stoppage.

Narrowly? He beat the living **** out of Williams and on his way to an L against Angulo? He was ahead and boxing his ears off throughout. Angulo had very little success but the two knockdowns.

Unlike most pure boxers Lara actually gets knockouts and scores knockdowns. How can people say he is boring? The only time he was boring was against Vanes and Molina - two guys nobody has ever looked good against.

Lara is vastly overrated and has only ever dropped duds as opposed to Canelo who dropped a real murderers row of opponents in Matthew Hatton, Cotto's little brother, shot Cintron, Ryan Rhodes etc

Its weird people knock his resume - The man has about 20 fights and has already fought Vanes, Williams, Angulo, Trout, Molina and soon to be Canelo. Who else is fighting that comp in so few pro fights?
Lara is everything that is right with boxing and one of the few who have never cherrypicked or ducked anybody. Would it hurt to give the guy just a little respect?

Well - I know you are insecure in your own manhood and all, and that's ok. Doesn't change the fact that - no TV execs want to promote someone ass-ugly on their airwaves. Remind me when some ugly chick who sings is given premium TV coverage.

But hey - if you don't want acknowledge the obvious - that's your business. It just makes you dumb.

Look man - if you're still upset that Nikolay Valuev wasn't given more airtime when he was "dominating" the boxing world - just know - we were all there supporting you from the back end.

But hey - since you literally had nothing of note to dispute with what I wrote - I'll just go ahead and assume you agree.

Narrowly defeats Paul Williams? You have zero credibility.

Two, you have no idea what type of politics goes on behind the scenes. He just might have a legitimate gripe.

The funny thing is, you're a grown man whining about another man who you think is whining; very ironic lol.
