True, the body work was impressive. But I'd say the last 6 rounds both were just trying to "outscore" the other

Let loma reach it's peak before facing rigo. That would be more mouth-watering and meaningful fight. Right now he's getting there, he is still managing when and where is the right time to apply his burst pressure punches, that's what caused his defeat to salido, He mismanaged the use of his stamina. Because when he's letting it go, he is clearly the better, more accurate and the deadlier of the two. If he'd let go of his hands earlier in the fight, he could have bag his first pro fight and possibly stop salido too. But then again, that's part of being green, loma is still green in professional boxing, mismanaging of stamina is a sign of greenness. What really helps loma though, is his good movement and he knows distance, he has decent pop, not earth shaking, everything is good really, he is fundamentally sound already, he just needs to get over that mismanagement of stamina and he's really good to go. Rigo though could still befuddle him in the end, but right now this is potentially rigo's most dangerous opponent out there.

"Russell let a guy 1-1 beat him"--really? Lomachenko is perhaps the most decorated amateur in history. It is incredibly deceptive to just label him a 1-1 guy. What Russell couldn't do had a lot to do with what Lomachenko was doing. I think Russell still will have a fine career. Lomachenko is a special talent.

I agree, Lomachenko had a unique amateur career, he is a double gold Olympic medalist and double World amateur gold medalist too. He is 396-1 as an amateur, and he even avenged his sole am defeat twice! This guy is special.

Loma looked superb on both defense and offense, great performance. I called this correctly, Russell has fast hands....and what else? Loma will be a force, I love his style.
