Thats what UFC had in MMA and the most popular fighters fought one another. But there will never be a monopoly in boxing, because as long as a fringe promoter has a belt worthy fighter, other promotions will have to work with them. And other fighters will go that route just to make sure they get attention from their promoter

But your post was about how Haymon would be begging to get his fighters back over there, when that really wouldn't be the case.
Oscar won't be banned from Showtime right now. But if he tries to run the feeder system that Showtime was for HBO in the past with GB, then he will get banned. Especially when the Haymon contracts are up at GB. And don't expect new signees in the near future considering the situation going on over there.Comment

well you could start by stop disrespecting the man everytime he defeats on of your fighters...i mean after the Maidana fight you went full ******Comment

I didn't say begging, but if he could get his fighters more exposure by having them fight more often on a bigger network why wouldn't he? There is no reason guys like Porter or Khan should be only fighting once or twice a year. It's BS.But your post was about how Haymon would be begging to get his fighters back over there, when that really wouldn't be the case.

I also highly doubt he was happy with Stevenson's numbers on Showtime considering his numbers on HBO. It's common sense.
Duboef has already said he would do business with OscarComment

Doe, if promoters/managers, fans, subscribers had their way they would love to see/have fights every Saturday. But networks like Showtime don't have unlimited budget. One network can't accommodate all these fights. You make it sound as if one network is good. Fans need as many networks as possible not just 1, 2, ....But your post was about how Haymon would be begging to get his fighters back over there, when that really wouldn't be the case.

As a SHO subscriber, it's disappointing the see fights very infrequently.Comment

Actually I'm saying the opposite. If everyone was on HBO, then they would have to compete for dates.Doe, if promoters/managers, fans, subscribers had their way they would love to see/have fights every Saturday. If Haymon keeps his guys on Showtime, he doesn't. Thats my whole point. Why would he beg to be on the larger network if he's a big fish in a small pond where he is atComment

He was moving his fighters to Showtime anyway. Notice at the time of the split Broner was the only Haymon fighter on HBO.I didn't say begging, but if he could get his fighters more exposure by having them fight more often on a bigger network why wouldn't he? Khan fights infrequently by choice. Porter is just now becoming a name, and they are working on his 3rd marquee fight since December when he won the belt.
Everything was running fine for these fighters until Oscar came back. If anything slows down, thats the reason.
And Dubof may be willing to work with Haymon, but Arum isn't. And Arum still controls the company, so Todd is a non-factor here. And even that shouldn't matter since we are discussing HBO not TRComment

He was moving to showtime because HBO were choosing bigger fights over these showcase fights that's why.
But you're right it really doesn't matter about TR since TR isn't the be all end all, so why is it a bad thing Oscar gets fighters fights with other promotional companies on HBO again?Comment

Bottom line for me is HBO is still the premiere network when it comes to boxing. They have a bigger budget. They don't rely on boxing to attract subscribers. Which is why their business model is unique.
Meanwhile, Showtime will keep on struggling. If they had their way all their boxing events would be on PPV, which is the exact opposite at HBO. It's financial strain for Showtime to make fights like Thurman vs Guerrero, for instance. Fighters want high pay for high risk fights, which SHO can't afford. That's why we'll probably never see these Haymon fighters fight each other except on PPV main or undercards.Comment
