Ruslan "Siberian Rocky" Provodnikov (23-3, 16KOs) is stunned that undefeated Chris Algieri (20-0, 8KOs) pulled off the biggest win of his career on Saturday night, when he got up from two knockdowns in the first round and won a twelve round split decision to capture the WBO junior welterweight championship at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Despite the disastrous start, two judges saw Algieri as the winner with identical scores of 114-112.

I like Ruslan but he need to STFU. He got outboxed big time with a one eye fighter. Thats Algieri style and he sticked to it. I dont know what he was thinking that Algieri was going to do? Go in an all out brawl with him. Take the defeat like a man and go get the Rios fight or a Maidana fight. It would be epic battles.

He was smacking you around with hard shots while he was running.

You said so yourself Ruslan "This is the most difficult style for me. " And as the saying goes "styles makes fights. "

im so sick of fighters and trainers that get out boxed saying the other fighter ran. if he ran he would of lost. ageiri is a technician just because he didnt stand in front and let provo hit him dont mean he ran. i was very entertained with how algeiri boxed

The bigger shots came from Ruslan but its a 12 round fight...in which he was outboxed by Algieri and made look clumsy at times. Algieri boxed, didn't run.

And he's been speaking about Floyd Mayweather like he the hot girl in high school.

If he doesn't like dealing with movement, why he so desperate for a shot at Floyd?

Whatever happened to getting in there and acutally taking the title from the champ?

                    My thoughts exactly.

I don't know how you win a fight by going backwards the entire fight.

Round 12 Algieri was straight up running and refusing to engage.

Boxing isn't about running, if you don't want to fight you shouldn't get in the ring. I don't like the direction the sport is going.

We need more Maidanas and less Andre Dirrells
