    • The poll shows why there are 3 judges..

algieri clearly winning the poll 2-1 over ruslan..

Which basically means 2 out of 3 thought chris won, and if those 3 people were judges it would be a split decision win for algieri, which it was..

the 117-109 ruslan card was horrible... There is no way ruslan won it that wide..

I had it 6 rounds apiece with the knockdowns giving a slight edge to ruslan, alot of close rounds early and middle of the fight, but 2nd half algieri dominated...
Ruslan had no explosiveness after 5 rounds and basically just plodded in and got tagged by algieri... Great win for chris

neither guy landed more effective punches than the other, as neither guy had to make any real adjustments. Algieri fought rd1-12 the exact same way, and he clearly outlanded ruslan in every round. Busting a guys face up doesn't make your punches more effective if it isn't deterring your opponent
It was more than busting up his face.

At no point in the fight did Ruslan go backwards or even look like he was in trouble. Algeiri took many flush shots and appeared visibly disturbed through out the fight. Kid had tons of heart but this is the hurt game and Ruslan was never even close to being hurt or any kind of trouble, can't say that about Chris doe.

I only remember two flush shot landed by Ruslan, the first knockdown punch and another one at the bell. Algieri would get moved when Ruslan landed on his guard, but other than that I didn't see anything else clean. Care to pinpoint the other instances?

I thought ruslan was landing hard clean shots in the first half of the fight, he was doing some good body work, but then in the 2nd half of the fight, his body shots were rare, and he basically headhunted and seemed to gas.. but early i thought ruslan was landing the better harder shots, especially to the body

does a huge shot have to be williams-martinez level to count? he wobbled algieir at least 3 or 4 times throughout the fight. you could see his legs dip and he also hurt him to the body but body punches don't count. only grazing punches count as "clean"

Algieri a tough kid... but Ruslan shots (albeit less frequent) no doubt had way more impact and velocity in the first half. Just because the kid gutted it out and took some hard body shots, and acclimated himself to the head shots until Prov tired, doesn't mean he's not the one who will be in the most pain for the following weeks after the clash.

Same goes for Mayweather Maidana actually.

Yes Provo clearly hurt him more. He put him down with a massive shot in round 1 and damaged the kids face pretty good. And because of that managed to land a shot here and there, few and far in between.

Call it Provo tiring or whatever makes the pill easier to swallow for you. Cause from the 2nd round onward with a damaged face Algerie controlled the lions share of the rest of the fight.

                    • I had Provo winning by a point or two. No robbery though. Provo should have gone more to the body to slow Algieri down. It's his own fault the fight was so close in my opinion.
