Well yeah the Leonard situation was pretty damn ridiculous, don't you think?

I don't recall which fight Armstrong defended two titles in the same night. Perhaps you could refresh my memory.

Yes he could, as long as he and his opponent are not over 160lbs at the weigh in as there is no minimum weight limit.

Oh, I see what you are saying and that is the only way this will happen. Floyd puts money on the table and the WBC or WBA (whoever) makes up some bogus situation where the arrangement is justified. Obviously, it won't make any sort of common sense but after the dust has settled and the rest of us are like wtf just happened, Floyd will be defending both belts.

Wow.....you might be one of the few posters in this thread who understand how you can put 2 weight titles on the line....the fight has to be at 147 or lower... it's the only way. At 154 you're over the 147 limit hence no go.

Is that definite or are you just guessing?

Well thanks for the reply, but it seems a bit irrelevant to what I was asking. But as far as your reply goes, the WBC do have to abide by their rules or they are subject to a court of law, and they don't have any cop outs for the weight limits of the world title fights. But yes, the sport is poorly organised at best

My main question has nothing to do with that though, I only wonder why Floyd wants to defend both of these belts when he doesn't have to, it's more fees for him to pay. He never did so with Maidana

                  See Leonard vs. Ladonde

EDIT: oh ok I see what u mean. I was just thinking about the act of putting all the titles up. But yes it should have to be under 147 technically. TECHNICALLY being the operative word.

Then why are there weight classes at all? Why doesn't Pac fight guys at 140 for his 147 pound belt or every other fighter out there do that? They could easily convince some smaller fighter to accept the challenge in the hopes of winning a belt in a higher class and the popular dude with the belt would be facing an easy mark.

well u can weigh 1 pound and fight in any division there is no minimum weight if im not mistaken so if he fights at 147 he could defend at 154 while making weight at 147 is that how it works?
