    Means fuckall.

Anybody can look good hitting stationary targets. It's when you're across from somebody and you can't predict what they're going to do. Your reflexes mean everything in that scenario, and the older you get the more they slow down.

This is why Martinez and Roy can look good in training and still be shot in the ring.
    Real **** right here!!!

This is pathetic so many wannabe experts on this site. On their minds there was only one acceptable outcome a devastating Martinez victory anything other is just wrong.

This is what happens when they have to eat this amount of crow.

        Works both ways.

        I like Cotto, a lot.

I am glad he won, even though I was betting on Martinez.

Martinez is shot as a fighter.

Not just his knees, his reflexes, his movement, his speed, his punch resistance... he's a 39 year old fighter, coming off knee surgery and 14 months of inactivity.

He was ripe for the picking. And pre fight predictions mean nothing compared to the reality of the ring.

Cotto won, but he beat an old over the hill shot Martinez.

I'm happy for Cotto, but it is what it is.

He's the linneal MW champion... let's see him defend it.
Roach wants to make him defend it against Fraud...
If Fraud gets the MW belt then what will the excuses be for him ducking GGG?

Someone ban this fool,my bet is your most likely chose Martinez to win..you think Cotto and Roach had a crystal ball and knew when they landed that sharp punches in the first round Martinez would run so hard he blew his mending knee

To call Miguel a cherry picker is absurd

Good win for Cotto ,they pick the right opponent at the right time ,even though GGG is a middle belt holder too. Things that make you go Hmmm!!

Acting like Cotto's skills had nothing to do with Martinez looking that bad is just preposterous.

Was Martinez a 100% maybe not is he completely and utterly shot not by a longshot. He met a fighter who was 110% ready for him, he trained like a beast, put together an efficient gameplan and never deviated from it.

Martinez looking like **** had a lot to do with the fighter he was up against and all of you don't want to see that.

Like I said all of you are shocked at the outcome because in your minds it wasn't possible.

Trainer Freddie Roach said Sergio Martinez is "in over his head on this one," was "ruined" by Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and "has nothing left" heading into Saturday's bout against three-division titlist Miguel Cotto, against whom the 39-year-old Argentine will defend his RING and WBC middleweight championships at Madison Square Garden in New York on HBO Pay-Per-View.

Cotto's superior skill played a huge role as well. Cotto could outbox him at any point in their career IMO.
