  • sergio got his azz whooped point blank period!!!! well rounded boxers find ways to adjust, his defense sucks, no head movement, and gets hit to easily

And for the record Sergio was not complaining about his knee in the corner, he was complaining about his neck. He caught a hook on the neck. There was also a point in the fight where Cotto turned his back and Martinez ran after him.

Martinez’s age, inactivity and lack of fundamental defense was a much bigger problem than his surgically repaired knee.

          I like Cotto, a lot.

I am glad he won, even though I was betting on Martinez.

Martinez is shot as a fighter.

Not just his knees, his reflexes, his movement, his speed, his punch resistance... he's a 39 year old fighter, coming off knee surgery and 14 months of inactivity.

Cotto won, but he beat an old over the hill shot Martinez.

I'm happy for Cotto, but it is what it is.

He's the linneal MW champion... let's see him defend it.

I was aware of his age, and his knee problems... They worried me, but I thought he still had enough left in the tank to beat Cotto.

I was wrong... he didn't have anything left in the tank.
You did it again. Contradicted your self.

Whats funny is you thought Martinez Was Shot before the fight and you still picked him to beat Cotto. Like most experts and most fans thought.

              No he didn't.

In idiot terms so you understand.

He thought Martinez was 100%, but could possibly be 80%. When Martinez entered the ring he was actually 40%.

I agree he was definitely tough for Mayweather, I was responding to ****** comments with the same level of comment.

                  Reading comprehension. Try it.

I didn't think Martinez was shot before the fight... if I did, I wouldn't of bet on him... pretty easy concept to grasp, really.

After watching the fight, I realized I was wrong, and he was much farther gone than I originally predicted.

                  There's no contradiction here.
u're a good poster on here and im not even tryna get into it with u but come on now. martinez didnt look good in his last fight. not only that he didnt look that good against chavez jr. the signs were there, its not a secret martinez is not the same fighter he was 3-4 years ago. for u to say u didnt think martinez was shot until watching the fight with cotto LOL. martinez barely survive in his last fight, that should be enough to determine where he's at.

There are other things that had to do with the fact that Martinez is shot.

It isn't one or the other.

Martinez having slower hand speed than Cotto, having literally non existent lateral and head movement when he used to have more than any other fighter except Gamboa, Terrible punch resistance when he took nonstop punches from huge guys like Paul Williams, looking just unbelievably slower in every area... was not from Cotto. And more than anything.. he couldn't pull the trigger. Even if you got caught cold and cant get your legs under you ala Berto-Ortiz... You can still let your hands go, fight off the ropes... Martinez couldn't do anything, and it wasn't just because Cotto is some monster at middleweight.

It was from Martinez being 39 years old, 14 months of inactivity, multiple knee surgeries, and being shot.

Sure... Cotto had to show up and fight well to win... but it wasn't one or the other. Cotto fought well against a finished Martinez. It's both.

Paul Williams never had power Cotto Power. Also Paul Williams did not throw a left hook to the Body like Cotto did on Saturday night. After getting caught cold in the first getting hit to the body repeatedly with a left hook will not allow you to fight on.

What Berto-Ortiz did was head hunt the whole time. If either fighter would have thrown a left hook to the body as Cotto did Saturday night that fight would have been a different story. Martinez was out cold and getting chopped to the Body.

Again dismissing Cotto's performance because it doesn't meet what was your perceived outcome.

I don't buy what your selling Martinez is not as far gone a you want to make it seem.
