As already stated in post 5...
it was much more than a meniscus tear that Martinez had to recover from. But that being said nobody's legs would be there after 2 devastating liver shots...a concision and broken nose all sustained in the 1st round. Anyone who tried to fight on after that would look like a shot fighter for doing so. Most would just cave and get counted out. He may very well be a shot fighter but it would be hard to make that distinction from how he looked after the 1st round because anyone would rightfully LOOK and BE shot.Last edited by jaded; 06-10-2014, 05:30 PM.Comment

The knee doesn't matter. How dense can you people be.
Sergio Martinez is shot, that's the bottom line. He's ****ing 39 years old. That's what happens in boxing. To put it into perspective, Sergio Martinez is older than De La Hoya and Mosley were when they fought Pacquiao.Comment

I don't understand how in the world anyone can watch that fight and not think Sergio was shot. The guy looked horrible.Comment

If you are of the position that Cotto caught Martinez at a good time and is good enough to beat a past prime Martinez, then fair enough and I can accept that.
But if you come on here saying Cotto does the same thing to any version of Martinez, then you're a fanboy.Comment
