Christ, he is shot because hes a 40 year old man that just went through knee surgeries/injuries, while looking shot in a fight 14 months before. Get that through your thick skull.

Has Martinez seen better days? Sure. Same with cotto. Did everybody and their brother pick Martinez, in whatever condition, to murder cotto? Yes.

Why are you denying the fact that Martinez got seriously hurt right off the bat? Why are you disregarding the words straight from Martinez' mouth, that he was seriously hurt right off the bat and couldn't recover? Why aren't you taking these into consideration, and considering that maybe you saw a fighter who was seriously hurt and lost control of his legs(which happens all the time) as opposed to being shot and knees blown?

      That's right, who's the ***n fanboy now?

      See above, ditto motha***a

a fighter with no legs gets hit with a left hook and somehow that gives a win credit? do you acknowledge that sergio was shot, yes or no?

so i'm a martinez fanboy, cotto hater?
ask people in the forum if either of these things are true. i didn't pick either guy to win this fight, but i said on several occasions that cotto "may very well win" because he was fighting martinez dead body. lots of people, pundits and fans alike, said cotto had a shot because of that.

as for the bold, you are such a loser. "ditto, motha***a?" "that's right." you actually said that? it's no wonder that nobody around here likes you

Martinez was old, shot, and had a bad knee. Let's all not act like this was some great victory for Cotto.

He had an arthroscopic procedure to repair a partially torn meniscus. Arthroscopic surgery isn't even full blown open surgery that is done for patients with severe injuries as it is just a small opening in which a small arthroscopic camera is used for repair. Second, a partially torn meniscus OR even a full blown tear of the meniscus isn't even a hardcore injury. Recovery from the injury doesn't take long as patients can begin rehab within weeks of surgery. In most cases you don't even need surgery for a partially torn meniscus to heal. Sergio elected for surgery for a better recovery.

Torn meniscus' are common injuries in sports and most common in the NBA. Why do I bring this up? Because in the NBA you need your legs to sprint up and down the court at a high level of speed and you need your legs to shoot the ball. There have been numerous NBA stars that have gone through this arthroscopic knee surgery for a torn meniscus like NBA star Chris Paul in 2010. Chris recovered from the surgery to play 80 games the very next season while making all star appearances multiple years since. Another NBA star who had the same surgery was Blake Griffin who suffered a torn meniscus in his knee while at practice for the USA Olympic team. He came back full force and has also made multiple all star teams. These are just two players of many.

Sergio Martinez has stated his knees were fine and had no effect on the outcome of the fight. From round 1 he was trying to box from the outside while circling with no signs of leg weakness. He wasn't limping, nor did he limp the entire fight which would have been a sign of bad legs. It looked as if he was scared of that left hook after being caught and seemed to not know how to deal with it which in turn flushed his game plan down the toilet. If your going to use the age excuse then stick to it but the knee excuse is old news.
Not everyone is the same the NBA guy is how old 20 something how old is Sregio 39 I had a meniscus tear same surgery Sergeio had and my knee still bothers me comparing some young NBA in his twenties to a almost 40 year old is just plain ****** and show's how Juvenile you are

How do you know in the first 30 seconds before taking the huge left hook that hurt him that he didn't have legs? He was circling cotto/feeling cotto out, please share with us o wise one?

Yeah, because in no way shape or form could cotto simply have always been the better fighter. No way. Martinez beating.....macklin, proves that.

Anyway, Martinez has always been nothing more than a very good fighter, wouldn't classify him as great. Same goes for Miguel Cotto as well, if Cotto were great then I'd pick him against Martinez currently, simply with the thought process that he'd fight a disciplined fight. Martinez isn't suppose to beat Cotto, not with the way he looked in his last fight, not with all those injuries, suppose may sound like a stretch but I'm dead serious. Cotto is suppose to circle Martinez, tag him and get out. Martinez tires too, always has so throw that out the window.

Cotto should win, will he? I don't know....

unlike you, i've seen every one of martinez televised US fights. he's been on the slide for a long time now. denying that is either bias, or a lack of familiarity with the sport. have you picked which one you are?

The only thing these Cotto**** have to grab onto is the claim that everybody is just "hating" and theyre Cotto haters.

                  Grow the **** up seriously.
