Canelo would be a very tough fight for Cotto so I dont see it as much of an easy/hostage situation. I'd like Cotto to fight GGG as well but since they are both tough fights I cant blame Cotto for going with a bigger fight if he chooses to do so. it doesnt mean he cant fight GGG if he beats cinnabon
I guess. I hear what you are saying.

But I think it would only be a bigger fight for the casual fan. For the hardcore fan, or the average NSB'er, I think Golvokin-Cotto is bigger then Canelo-Cotto, IMHO. Since Golovkinn is a legit MW champ aleady

You don't think he would get paid millions to fight Golovkin??? Come on now
Forget about being realistic? What does that even mean? Should I also pretend I **** rainbows?

Cotto-Canelo is a much bigger fight so technically that would be BEST for the sport.

Cotto-GGG is best for interwebz dweebz and fanboyz.

I'm optimistic for the latter. Both guys are on HBO. HBO loves Golovkin.... It's hard to see HBO not throwing down big money to make that fight happen.

We've already lost Adonis-Kovalev unification. We need Cotto-Golovkin!
Cotto came in 155 on the scales... he knows his limits as does anyone who has half a brain.. GGG is far too much for Cotto to take on he is not going to hold it hostage just simply vacate...

I don't think so. Most view Canelo-Cotto as highly competitive and Cotto-Golovkin as one-sided so for hardcore fans the former would be bigger.

Isn't Cotto partially promoted by Top Rank? I don't think that would happen.

I just hope the winner would be willing to face Golovkin since he has looked better then Quillin and fought better opponents IMO (Geale and Macklin)
Ok, even though there is no chance quillin gets the fight.

Look, Cotto is near the end of his career. He can fight a Floyd rematch in NYC then Canelo for probably $25 mil combined. I think he has earned the right to choose the most lucrative fights out there at this stage of his career.

I don't think he would defend against any 2 of rubio, GGG, or quillin for 1/5th of this, again at this point in his career.

Obviously. That is exactly what I am talking about. bigger doesnt mean best it means more lucrative.
