WTF is wrong with that ? So he can't beat the best in the world anymore, it doesn't mean he should retire automatically.

He should not have came back against a guy like Cotto unless his knees were properly tested. Simple as that.

You miss the point. He had to come back against a name like Cotto in order to cash in. If he fought another Martin Murray, it'd be for peanuts and he was in big risk of losing and thus losing his chance to face a name like Cotto for good money.

He had to try to rile Cotto and pray for him to walk onto a lucky punch. Cotto was too smart to walk onto anything short and Martinez couldn't reach with those knees, meaning he stood no chance.

Helluva job by Cotto though! Really happy for him.

Yeah, I agree. I'm a big Sergio Fan and was hating to see what I saw last night. There were openings for Martinez to hit Cotto.. he just couldn't do it. If he wishes to continue fighting he is going to have to work his way back up. It will take time and time is not on his side.

1ST and foremost, i have said it many times, Cotto is a trainera dream because he will follow the gameplan to a fault or should i say to a loss. Roach wanted him to jump on Martinez early and fast and thats what he did. Martinez was getting alittle better as the fight went on but the first round took it out of him! Cotto follows the plan as good as anyone in the game, and i have said this before - cotto had noone in hia corner against Pac, he was lost after the first couple of rounds. You cant beat Pac without a corner... but Martinez looked like he was fighting on kitchen table legs - this is why Cotto ia gonna be alive Dog - wveryone thought he was shot but he justed needed the right trainer that can take advantage of his strengths...

That's just his trainer not trying to sound like he's making the decision for Martinez. Sergio is done. That was sad to watch. There isn't a top 20 MW he could have beaten Saturday night.
