Cotto will make more than $10million dollars. Likely around $12 million.

Martinez will have to get his dignity back in the ring. Now I see why Cotto picked Martinez and not Canelo, no way Canelo would have let himself get bent over by Cotto like that. This sounds like it's 80-20 split.

Do the math =. 400k PPV sales at $60= $24 million.Sergio would get 1/3 of that after cost...so about $6-7 million and thats at only 400 k for PPV sales.

The PPV #s for this fight will be over 600k,easily.

Cotto will end up with about $ 13-14 million.

Sergio got $4.9 million from Chavez fight and Chavez got a little under $ 8 million after PPV money cuts.
Cable companies and network get half of that, cut it in half and Sergio is not making 1/3 of $12 million. Majority of that will go to Cotto. Sergio will make $3-4 million more. Add in promoter's cut of the PPV money also.

Cotto is the free agent genius. If you have drawing power, there isn't that big of a need to sign a multi-fight deal with a promoter

Yes but my figures are based on 400k ppv sales,Kev.

This fight will do over 600K sales at $60 per= $ 36 million.

HBO get 50 % of that or $18 million.

That would leave Sergio with 1/3 of $18 million which= $ 6 million.

Sergio is guaranteed $1.5 million base + $5ooK from South American tv money+ $ 6 million from ppv= at least $ 9 million.

If the fight does over 600k ,which I think that it will, he will get around $ 10 million. Loud Mouth Lou is no dumby and always bets on his fighters. He gets them paid.

Cotto will get at least $12 million and could do as much as $15 million based on sales.

Lou Dibella probably doesn't have the cash on hand to give his fighters big guarantees, so he negotiates small guarantees with big upsides. $1.5M is what Martinez gets fighting on regular HBO. These commission guarantees are usually pretty misleading.

So this is Sergio's "money" fight? I'm no math wiz but $1.5 doesn't sound like a huge money fight. I reckon he could get that if not more against Golovkin!
