i was thinking that too, if martinez-ggg would be ppv... it could be a hit n miss... kinda like how i think stevenson-kovalev would be. two borderline ppv fights that appeal to us but lacks the big A-side.

worst case scenario, it ends up like a bernard hopkins ppv, but i think it would surely do better then that

Hey at least Cotto isn't making 30 million and paying Sergio 1.5 mil. However I think Sergio is getting the same as Khan and Broner for being on the undercard

Fortunately Miguel didn't use Sergio's lack of crowd appeal as an excuse to duck like Team Carl Froch and Team Floyd Mayweather does.

If Cotto had the opportunity to do the same thing, he would. I mean, he already demanded that he be the headliner, enter the ring last, catchweight, and so forth. And he referenced Pacquaio and Mayweather in explaining his reasoning for these things.

This fight will do over 600K sales at $60 per= $ 36 million.

HBO get 50 % of that or $18 million.

That would leave Sergio with 1/3 of $18 million which= $ 6 million.

Sergio is guaranteed $1.5 million base + $5ooK from South American tv money+ $ 6 million from ppv= at least $ 9 million.

If the fight does over 600k ,which I think that it will, he will get around $ 10 million. Loud Mouth Lou is no dumby and always bets on his fighters. He gets them paid.

Cotto will get at least $12 million and could do as much as $15 million based on sales.
Interesting...do you have a source for this?

Yeah, Dibella gets his fighters money. But Dibella is getting money out of the deal too. And so is Top Rank. So how much money do you think is going to both Promoters? Because from the looks of it, you make it seem as though the fighters are going to be receiving all proceeds.

Then he will become a PPV draw in his own right.

For example, Money Mayweather didn't become a crossover star or even noticed among the casual fan, to where he is the sports biggest cash cow and draw today, until he was given the Pay Per View exposure, in his victorious bout with Oscar De La Hoya; Which in turn introduced him to a much broader audience.

So my point is one has to start from somewhere in order to go anywhere.
So cute, Martinez is 39 years old my cute little friend, very little time left in his career the nature has already call him.
