Wow, Martinez is definitely going to punish Cotto and win because of the purse difference and the fact that Teddy Atlas is picking Cotto to win. Always go against Teddy Atlas' predictions.

I remember Dan Rafael saying Maidana (who also got a $1.5 mil guarantee) would get upside from Argentinean TV against Mayweather.

Martinez is technically a bigger star than Maidana and he's been on ppv. Not to mention maidanas ppv upside was significantly greater than what Martinez would expect. It's really apples and oranges.

Wow... Its really hard not to root for Martinez in this fight. They rob him like that? Really? 1.5 million to Cotto's 7 million? Martinez is going to take that disrespect out on Cotto for sure.

I dont know why people are acting like Martinez is getting robbed. 1.5 mil is what Maidana made to fight mayweather...it was also the same he made to fight Chavez. It's not the biggest purse but its not chump change.

I'm sure the PPV threshold for Martinez is way lower than what it was for Maidana-Mayweather.

Of course he is going to get underpaid. He had 3 strikes against him.

1: He is not a draw
              2: Cotto is a draw
3: Martinez is not in Arum's vested interest, so of course he is going to make less.

Arum had all the bargaining power, and dibella had very little.

In terms of percentage splits, no doubt Maidana got the shortest straw though.

                  He's getting that Maidana treatment.

Man, Martinez should have left DiBella a long time ago, he would have been getting larger purses with Golden Boy or Top Rank.

Well he still winds up with more than Martinez while bringing less to the table. Which is the point.

Cotto really humiliated this sissy. The biggest humiliation is yet to come, getting beat up senseless by a smaller 154 pounder.
