  • Comments Thread For: Carl Froch: Groves Beat DeGale, I Annihilated Groves!

IBF/WBA "regular" super middleweight champion Carl Froch has little to no interest in facing his mandatory challenger, Olympic gold medal winner James DeGale. Last Saturday night before 80,000 at Wembley, Froch knocked out George Groves in eight rounds and DeGale stopped Brandon Gonzales in four to become the mandatory challenger.

Froch doesn't views DeGale as a big fight and he also brings up how DeGale lost a few years ago to Groves, who just lost back to back fights to Froch.

I said this in the other thread but Froch has previously stated that he thought Degale beat Groves in their fight.. A lot of other people thought the same so why is Froch now trying to downplay Degale's performance against Groves - he clearly won that fight and only lost the decision because the judges were swayed by the crowd who cheered at Groves' every little success. Degale already beat Groves.

I still want to see it, it doesn't have to happen right away.

So Froch is doing to Degale what Calzaghe did to him fair enough.

Because believing a fighter nicked a narrow points decision is completely different to blasting out a guy into an unnatural position on the canvas.

You would think a boxer, especially Froch, would know triangle theories don't count and they don't mean you can just skip a guy because the guy you beat, beat him.
