Joe fought cans. Resume vs. resume there's no question: Froch > Calzaghe.

    H2H is another matter, though.

Calzaghe had opportunities to fight Carl and decided not to.

What would we say if Carl refused to fight Groves and instead went overseas and fought an over the hill fighter?

calzaghe would have beat the f#cking garbage out of froch. he was way, way too fast.

maybe calzaghe gets dropped, but who didn't drop or hurt joe at one point or another?

Froch timed the far faster groves. Speed counted for nothing when you have an iron chin and iron will like froch. I've got the cobra by KO if he fought the calzaghe that showed up against Hopkins or RJJs shell. Knockout could come at any point in the fight too.

If he gets dropped, he's gone, Froch is a finisher.

I was a big Calzghe fan, and he had a BIG chance to fight Froch. Everyone hated on Froch for calling Calzaghe out but imagine if he had taken that win too. His resume would have been so so so much stronger. He didn't. He didn't fight Kelly Pavlik either, he let Hopkins take care of business and that would've done great at that time too. Dawson another one he definitely should have fought. He ended his career too early for my likings.

Resume against resume Froch has the better one.

I don't think Froch could beat Joe though, he would need a KO.

(New England, who did ever hurt Calzaghe? What fight?)

I don't like it, when retired fighters claiming that they'd beat so and so. They should leave that discussion to fans and historians.

Most people in America always underrate Joe Calzaghe even tho hes widely acknowledged as the best 168 ever

There no way he would "destroy" Froch. It would be a close fight with either guy capable of winning a decision
