How is Schaffer an honest man? He was intentionally signing (Al Haymon's fighters) fights without trying to sign them to GBP? This has been going on behind Oscar's back. This was premeditated by both Schaffer and Haymon. It's call doing business in bad faith or screwing your boss! The one that gives you your paycheck!

The interesting thing about all of this to me is that it was bernard hopkins who legitimized GBP when it first rose up. His affiliation w/ the company is what attracted fighters to the stable. Oscar's rep was as a pretty boy && didn't carry weight until B-hop signed on. Only then did their stable really expend. I suspect his departure along w/ that of Schaefer would absolutely be the undoing of GBP completely. Oscar has ZERO credibility on that front. Maybe he could begin again concentrating strictly in Southern Cali & w/ Mex fighters. Who knows...we'll see.

Back then no one would give BHOP the second chance Oscar gave him. He was already considered old.

What a mess. Everyone involved is looking out for #1 and then some.

Gotta admit I'm very uneasy with this all. Nervous for the sport.

Or boss who keeps flaking and goes into rehab during the biggest fight in the company history leaving everybody hanging in the wind.

What if Schaffer and Haymon were also part of Oscar downfall with drug, alcohol, women. I remember Schaffer saying I'm running the company while Oscar takes the needed time to work on himself. What a hipocrit! Now his crying because he got discovered? A job is a job. If you take a job, you gotta do it!

Schaefer did his job he was running the day to day operations. Getting contracts and endorsements not Oscar who was a figure head. Oscar was doing all of that as a fighter with Top Rank. Incompetent bosses lose control over there company.

And still Floyd and Ellerbe want to continue doing business with GBP? Maybe it's because they need Oscar's promotional banner. How is Floyd going to keep his multi million dollar agreement with Showtime if he needs a co-promoter? Who's going to put out that kind of money?
