    1) Richard now has to find his own way in the promotion world. Plus that will have to be without the Golden Boy (DLH) name and without the fighters currently under Golden Boy. He may work with Mayweather, but Mayweather's nearing the end of his career. However, Richard's upside is just that, Mayweather's name. Richard has gained credibility from being involved with DLH and Mayweather, but he will have to figure out how to continue big. Venues, networks, etc may know him, but may or may not have confidence in him without the Golden Boy banner which has been so prevalent for years.

    2) DLH takes a hit because Richard put in the work and has the experience. Now DLH has to focus on finding someone to replace him. Someone trustworthy who has the business savvy to handle the big business of boxing. May not be easy. However, that new CEO will have the Golden Boy name on his side to aid in his negotiations and acquisitions. Venues, cities, networks, etc already believe in Golden Boy based on name alone. So if they can find a CEO that is convincing enough to bring good ideas and relationship to the table, they might do ok.
Did you not read the article? Majority of the fighters who show case for Golden Boy are not even signed to Golden Boy. Haymon has the fighters and Haymon is with Mayweather and don't deal with Arum. Hoya stepped on his own toes.

How are you so sure Schaefer has not been turning on Oscar behind his back? If Schaefer has been working out deals on the side and tries to beat the contract he has with Oscar, that is not exactly small stuff there. Arum may be the lessor of the evils if that turns out to be the case. Oscar wanted to end the cold war and took steps to make things work, Schaefer did not. Problem=Schaefer.

Arum was the one who did not want to work with Golden Boy ( mares/Donaire, Matthysse/Rios) sorry but people saying Schaefer is a snake and such but disregarding Arum are bigger fools than De La Hoya.

But that doesn't make Schaefer look any better than Arum so if people want to be fair, call both guys names because they deserve it but Schaefer is not the lessor evil, especially if he was blocking Oscar's plans as opposed to Arum who at least is willing to work with Oscar. Anything short of fans wanting promoters to work with each other means their bias is in overdrive.

we don't often agree but I think you make an excellent point here.

WHy would fighters and networks trust ODH given his recent history, especially what happened during the floyd v canelo lead up?

Once a person has recognized the problem, addressed it, is sober, and has been treated, they often blossom again if they have the will. I have known a number of people were alcoholics and went to regular AA meetings and seen great results from people who turned their lives around at great speeds by simply quitting and becoming what they wanted to become. And Oscar has business advisors to work with him while he reorganizes. He already has been a one man band to end the cold war and that's a huge step. He knows exactly what he wants and it takes great progress to mend relationships and that is a huge step. He has a huge brand name and that is not going to change unless he wants it to. The power of the human spirit is not to be underestimated.

There is noway that Robert as CEO of the company had so many of these fighters fighting without contracts unless he knew that he was starting a deal with haymon and mayweather. Now the only fighter Oscar has of any significance is Canelo.
Yes he only made Golden boy the number one boxing promotion in the business.
