Why will Andre Ward not fight outside the USA and why will he not do PED testing?

The s6 homefield was due to great promotional work by Goosen.

The avoidance of PED testing is more puzzling. He has been very vocal about wanting OST in boxing, and said it would be great for the s6 final to send a message to the boxingworld. Then he went mute. Nothing happened for the final and nothing has happened since.

Furtermore he at one point stated that he did not work with Victor Conte any longer, but in an interview the following week, Conte said that Ward was still his client.

He fought both Kessler and Abraham in California during the Super Six. Had he fought either in Germany, he would have had to comply with OST, which is required by Sauerland's contract with ARD TV. Ward also refused PED testing for the fight with Rodriguez.

Andre Ward could have made more money fighting Froch in the UK on a PPV than he'll make in Oakland. Instead he just remains inactive, too afraid to take a risk of losing his "0" if he doesn't have a home referee who permits him to foul.

I remember in Ward's fight with Bika, the California referee admonished Bika for every infraction, but said nothing to Ward about headbutting and hitting off the break. It was a close fight, Bika might have won with a fair referee.

And referee Jack Reiss was a disgrace in the Kessler-Ward fight. I remember Al Bernstein's words "Let's be honest here, Andre Ward came in like a billy goat!" after Ward's fight-ending headbutt. Ward should have been disqualified for deliberately injuring Kessler, but Jack Reiss called it "accidental".
Because he's an arrogant coward deep down.

The testing issue angers me as much as the LHW issue, for the same reason. Ward sure talked a lot about doing both before and after the Super Six final, and not only has he done neither, he makes excuses not to.

Yeah. Its su****ious enough that he works with Conte, and those su****iouns could be tamed by doing volontary year round testing. Its really a PR nightmare that Ward has put himself in.

When was the last time Ward has done testing for a fight?

having lived and still being a Bay Area resident for parts of the year I feel compelled to shed some light on Conte.....the guy has been in the area for years and years! Before he got involved with his scandel...and thereafter Conte has probably been commissioned by at least half the athletes in the area. he has a rep that exceeds his foibles!

There is NO reason to suspect Ward on account of having a relationship to Conte. Besided Ward does not look roided out.

Not saying its impossible but I do think that its a stretch to rely on Conte as an implication that roids were consumed

The testing is the thing that leaves me a little unsure.

To be outspoken in how you'd like stricter testing only to never do it, and actually dodge it when asked to do it, is a tad su****ious....as is working with Conte.

PED testing for which fight coming up? And travel where and for what fight?

How can he do either when he's not an active fighter right now? He's stuck in a litigation with his promoter and will not be in the ring again until a settlement is reached.

                      Hmmm that is very su****ious.
