Cotto to get what he deserves. A win against a top of the chain fighter. Mosley/Margs/Clottey weren't at that point. Lost against PAC/May/Prime Margs.

And if you are thinking about it you will do it.

Boxing is littered with guys making these statements right before they get KTFO.

I give him all the credit in the world, i thought he was done after the Foreman fight, fought Mayweather pretty well and got punished by Pac. Now hes fighting for history ..... great boxing prizefighter.

lol Couldn't agree more. Bet the house.

When a formerly great champ talks like that, either his heart isn't in it anymore, or he feels his body betraying him. I appreciate Miguel's sincerity, which is refreshing (ironically, I was joking about this just yesterday), but nothing good can come of this.

I don't think he's thinking quite yet of cashing out - if this was his retirement party, he'd fight Canelo and be done with it.

He's going for the gusto - plus he said at the end that he's going to enjoy the remainder of his career which tells me that he isn't stopping until he's given the last of what he has to give.

I mean the guy is an introvert that shies away from the public life - he talks up his family - you can tell that these grueling training camps at 33 are taking it's toll.

But to me, he looks focused. I mean usually in these training camps, we always see his mom, wife and kids hanging around

These days, it just looks like business

Sounds like Cotto wants to get a few more PPV buyers. "Could be his last fight man!"

              Think.

I couldn't agree with you more, at the end he says he is going to enjoy the rest of his career, not life. He is talking about making the best of what's left.

Am I reading too much into it? I don't think so, but...maybe. We'll have a much better idea after next Saturday's fight. In my opinion, Cotto lost a step the moment the moved up to 154. He's almost seven full years younger than the guy he's fighting next, yet he's talking about retirement. As fans, we all try to interpret everything leading up to a fight -- what we hear, what we see, what we think we see -- all in an effort to predict the outcome. It's not often you hear a champion make that sort of talk before a huge fight. We'll see what it means, if anything.

If he beats Martinez, he should get that mega payday against Alvarez or Mayweather and walk away. There's literally no reason to stick around afterwards.

These guys lmao... Martinez just said he has one fight on HBO then might retire as well. So bet a draw? ****ing idiots making a prediction because a fighter SAID something lol.
