For the sport to thrive 3 people have to go Shafer,Haymon and Mayweather these 3 clowns have created a Cold War that crated great fights from never happening. Once those 3 clowns are gone we can have those great fights of the 70's- 90's

The cold war was created by De La Hoya, who enlisted the help of Schafer and Espinosa to get him out of Top Rank.

Golden Boy's success is much more about Oscar De La Hoya's name than anything Richard Shaefer was able to do on his own. He was able to build promotional relationships because people wanted to be associated with Oscar. Golden Boy will find another Shaefer, they are a dime a dozen. Nothing Richard Shaefer brings is worth a 10th of what Oscar's involvment means to the company.

isn't oscar making good money not working with top rank? and of course oscar is taking back his company because he has woken up and realized that the direction that the company is heading in is something he is no longer satisfied with, and schaefer and al haymon aren't cooperating.

what he wants is to get back to working with top rank in order to produce the best fights and the fights we fans deserve to see. as a result he has us in mind first and foremost.

nothing funny about this. in fact we should all thank oscar (whether by email, phone or tweeting him).

agreed. there are thousands of schaefers out there, but there is only one golden boy.

This is your opinion based on whatever fan-friendly quote the phoniest boxer of his generation came up with. Most likely he "woke up" and realized he had relinquished control and was being treated like the figurehead he is. I don't think for one minute that this beef is about giving fans good fights. Give me a break. A promoter's job is to make money by any means.

i think your problem is you see things in a very negative light. i don't believe for a second that oscar is doing this only for personal gain.

i believe he woke up one day, looked into the mirror and didn't like what he saw because what he saw was a willing participant in a cold war that continues to prevent the best fights from getting made. he probably looked himself right in the eyes and quietly whispered, "enough is enough, i must end this cold war and give the fans the fights they want to see.".

again, we should all give oscar his well deserved thank you.

he is a true atg and hero of the sport.
