Golovkin x Stevenson - same tact, different response

The best in his own division? That's a stretch man. When I think of Quillin in comparison to the sport's elite, you'd think I bit into a lemon the way I express, then you got chinless Lemieux, Martinez the cripple. Golovkin has more reason to move up, Martinez isn't gonna give him the opportunity and neither will Cotto.Edmond don't lose me here now I gathered respect for you here after the funny gif post. Golovkin is a MW, Ward is a SMW, the comparison between him and Stevenson is
ridiculous. Stevenson is clearly ducking a guy in his own division whereas GGG is actively fighting the best at his own weight, once hus division dries out and he's bulldozed through them he will call out Ward.Comment

He didn't whimper at all. Golovkin has never said he doesn't want to fight Ward. He's said the opposite.
Why don't you pay as much attention to Ward saying the Golovkin fight should be "in the future" as you are to the fact he called Golovkin out at all? Both sides have basically said the same thing, that it's a fight they'd be interested in later, hopefully after Golovkin gets a chance at the middleweight championship.Comment

But seriously Golovkin is struggling to find challenging opponents, he should moves up and work his way towards a Ward fight.Edmond don't lose me here now I gathered respect for you here after the funny gif post. Golovkin is a MW, Ward is a SMW, the comparison between him and Stevenson is

Considering he was going to fight Chavez at 168 and his people have talked with Kessler's about a fight, I think Team Golovkin has come to the realization he'll have to move up for good fights. Middleweight is a bunch of punks. The best in his own division? That's a stretch man. When I think of Quillin in comparison to the sport's elite, you'd think I bit into a lemon the way I express, then you got chinless Lemieux, Martinez the cripple. At least Geale will probably fight him now. That's something.Comment

You have a good point IMO it doesn't apply to the scenario you listed. Stevenson does not want to fight Kovalev right now. Both called out everyone in or near their devision
Golovkin called out everyone from 154 to 168 while Stevenson did the same for everyone at 175
Ward & Kovalev responded to both who respectively said not yet in other words
Stevenson is ridiculed while Golovkin is not. Funnily enough, Ward is ridiculed more than Golovkin. I struggle to contemplate how someone who has earned his stripes is mocked more than a person who hasn't.
I don't seem to understand the logic. But then again, trying to find logic on NSB, is like trying to find a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, it won't happen
When certain fighter-ward and most recently stevenson among them are quoted a segment of NSB holds them to those words to the literally. Those same posters when GGG and others are quoted do not hold them to that standard. They "understand" what they really meant.
It also seems these fighters are consistently asked to "prove" themselves in ways far different from other fighters. For example, Ward has to prove himself by going up to 175 because he said he would. GGG doesn't have to go up to 168 to prove himself despite saying the same thing.
Maybe its just that those posters have greater expectations for greater/better fighters. That would be completely fair. The problem is the same segment of NSB argues these fighters are not greater fighters.
As such, you are only left with a couple of reasons why they operate in this fashion. I will just assume its jealousy.Comment

In truth, I missed the part where Golovkin said a Ward fight will happen in the futureHe didn't whimper at all. Golovkin has never said he doesn't want to fight Ward. He's said the opposite.

The excuses that they are not in the same division is lame.. GGG said he would fight anyone from 154 to 168. Moreover fighting someone just above your weigh is not that bad, Mugabi fought Hagler when he was a light middleweight, People nowadays use it as an excuse to either duck a fight or discredit a fighters win.Comment
