  • Why is Muhammad Ali featured in a thread focussing on LL and WK?

There are 2 threads dedicated to that "sensitive" topic.

Scott was right on, LacedUp that comment about past champs like Ali whipping every opponent on the K's records is outrageous.

The Ali myth was totally busted man, you had nothing.

I also think Wlad didn't want to fight him in the first place, because he knows he doesn't have many fights left in his career, so why waste them on someone like Leapai? But he had to fight him.

I would really like to see him fight Fury at one stage or another. That's the most interesting fight for me. Pulev is not good enough for Wlad in my opinion. He's very tough and durable, but he's not punching hard enough or accurate enough.

Wilder/Fury - I would pay to see those fights against Wlad. And that's mainly because I think Wlad will have to perform to his best because he would know he's in there with a genuine test.

Sort of like when Lennox beat Michael Grant. When you face a puncher, you need to get them quick. i'd like to see Wlad in that situation.
You mean you have actually WATCHED boxing in the last 40 years? Sorry maybe I didn't give you enough credit! lol

I thought he had a choice of opponents there? As if Alex was forcibly made mandatory if that's true, doesn't seem fair.

Hey I agree again. WK can decline at any stage slightly now and there are some dangerous opponents for him even if WK is heavily favoured. But he needs to finish up fighting the best opponents definitely.

Oh come on man, WK is a very respectful champ, I'm not aware of too many bad incidents, enlighten me?

I personally loved Lennox's arrogant personality, I found it the most amusing of all boxers, the mega overconfidence lol.

But he was a bit of a jerk lol

We're talking about classy representatives right?

I bet you alot of opponents of Lennox would say Wladimir is the nicer man and the guy who carries the sport in a better name...

Lennox denied Vitali and all the fans the rematch, there was massive hype around a rematch after how amazing the first fight was...
Just think how much cash Lennox turned down to potentially prove the people wrong that he didn't need Vitali to cut to beat him and to prove that
"He wasn't in shape" rumour to be put to bed by coming into shape the rematch but he never did...

He rejected the biggest pay-day of his career and Lennox was far from finished, Vitali made Lennox want to quit early and this is sadly the truth.

Lennox Lewis retired in his prime because of Vitali Klitschko.

We can also remember his douchebaggery towards Rid**** Bowe who was suppose to be Lewis 'friend'.

Wladimir and Vitali at 37 are and were in their peak,Lewis was the same age at the time but was grossly out of shape to the point his clinching was tiring Vitali, not only that.Lewis nearly broke the ring stool between rounds,I have never seen such a hulking mass frame nearly bring a stool to the point of collapse.so desperate was he to exit the ring, let alone return for desert.

Lewis actually dishonours the sport and his fans coming to the ring unfit, unconditioned and clearly not ready for the biggest test of his career.

Such a shame Vitali could not fight a prime Lewis and expose all his flaws in the final 8 rounds like he was doing in the first third of the fight,a travesty in fact.

Vitali would and should have been recognised as the superior athlete, sportsman and generally better all round fighter.Lewis refuse because he knew, conditoned or unconditioned it would have been the war of his career,Vitali would have given more than he could have handled....and more.

He had to fight Leapai or vacate the title.

I'm not saying he's particularly worse than previous champions, but I wouldn't say he's particularly better either.

The man faked an injury to get out of the Chisora fight, he went into Chisora's locker room, sat through the whole tape up and then asked him to do it again when he had to fight Vitali.

He called Haye a b'tch, a liar, all sorts of things. he didn't rematch, nor sought to rematch his two most devastating losses. Only rematched the third when he was half blind.

Blamed one of his losses on being poisoned. Later blamed the same loss on excessive vaseline on his body or something crazy like that (seriously Wlad, decide which excuse you're going with and stick by it)

Disrespected Mike Tyson by comparing Mormeck to him (the 2012 version)

Made a degrading video about Haye on youtube.

The guy is a fake gentleman. and you fanboys slurp it up.

              • It doesn't matter if there was a rematch or not, Lewis is better than Vitali. He has a MUCH better resume.

Lewis resume is better than both Wlad's and Vitali's combined. FAR better.

Lewis resume isn't nearly as good as Wlad's.

Lewis never stopped a single opponent in his entire pro career who hadn't been stopped before by someone else. Wlad has stopped 17 who had never been stopped before.

Lennox fought Tyson and Holyfield when they were past their respective primes.

Lennox's win over a past-prime Mercer was controversial, many thought Mercer deserved the decision.

Who else? The likes of Michael Grant and Andrew Golota?

Why are you being a little ***** and putting me on ignore and then replying in my thread?

So Michael Grant wasn't undefeated when he fought Lewis? Who had knocked out Golota before Lewis stopped him? Ruddock was stopped vs Tyson but that shouldn't have happened - Lennox stopped him in two rounds. Oliver McCall another one.

Who are Wlad's and Vitali's best combined stoppage win? Sam Peter? Ruslan Chagaev?

Wlad has never knocked out a top opponent. Povetkin, Haye, Ibragimov, Byrd etc all went the distance.

Yeah, stopping the likes of Pianeta is hugely impressive. Bravo Tunney. Bravo.
