First of all, as you say, Marquez connected with a huge right hand that was a cleaner shot than any he had previously landed in all three previous fights.

Second, he was with Heredia for the third fight and looked just as big and muscled as in all following fights, so why didn't he spark Pac out? Could it have had to do with simply fighting a very different game plan and landing a better shot against a too offensive Pac? Seems likely given he landed some massive shots in the third fight, while supposedly on roids with Heredia too, and could only shake and stun Pac like all his previous fights.

Then suddenly Pac fights more offensive, and Marquez changes up the game plan to go for single power shots instead of combinations, and guess what? He landed a bunch of really hard shots, particularly the one after Marquez own knockdown, that if he had this new found power like people keep raving about, would have stopped Pac clean right then.

It took Pac completely falling for a Marquez feint to the body and leaving himself completely open to drop him with the hardest shot Marquez could possibly throw, and it still only dropped him for a three count. That's not new found power. That's just bad defense and a good feint.

Then to stop him, it took Pac to literally run into a perfect counter right hand, that Marquez had already landed not long before, but without Pac running into it, it only briefly stunned him, just like in his three previous fights.

Marquez landed the perfect counter, but without Pac running into it, it would have just stunned him again. It wasn't Marquez new power, but simply Pacs desperation to stop Marquez that led to it.

Anyway, as you yourself and anyone with a brain can figure out, Marquez was also with Heredia in the third fight and landed some huge shots, so if that's the case, where was the new found power then?

Where was the new found power and speed against Bradley?

Where was the new found power and speed against Fedchecnko?

Where was the new found power and speed against Alvarado?

Before anyone brings up the one knockdown as some kind of 'proof', if you think Marquez only knocking Alvarado down once, a guy who had been dropped twice in his previous fight, wobbled and nearly dropped by a jab in the fight before that, stunned, wobbled and nearly dropped numerous other times and stopped twice in his previous three fights, as proof of Marquez' new found power, you can't be helped because having only one knockout in five fights at 147 all points to significantly less power, and losing to guys he would have beaten at lower divisions all point to less speed and power, not more.

The people arguing this though are the ones that wouldn't consider questioning Pacs unheard of rise through divisions, and being able to not just keep his power and speed, but increase it to the point that he was annihilating guys that significantly bigger, and that bigger fighters had not been able to do.

But I guess Pac refusing testing, getting more speed and power the higher he moved up and looking more like freaking Bruce Lee the higher he went, which itself is unheard of, as he destroyed guys that hadn't been destroyed so bad before, isn't nearly as questionable as Marquez losing power (yes, losing power, as one KO in five fights under Memo, compared to three KOs in four fights at 135 before Memo and seven KOs out of eleven fights at 126 when he first stepped up to championship level equals losing power), losing speed, and losing more fights, except for one KO and getting bigger after starting a weight training program (which is the purpose of it after all and entirely expected) for the first time in his career.
Time to close this thread I believe...

Yeah I can't really see any multimillionaire fighter not being on something. I figure Conte's right even though I'm no fan of the guy's.

Neither of you guys can talk much about Marquez without talking about Alvarado as well. Alvarado is NO saint. He declined random drug testing when Provodnikov requested it.

but alvarado isn't connected with an expert steroid chemist and nor does he show clear signs of steroid abuse like marquez does.

of course alvarado might be cheating but there is nothing really su****ious about the guy other than he declined extra testing.

by far marquez is the most obvious and blatant cheater. are you not at least su****ious of marquez as well?

But that does not mean he is a CLEAN fighter. And when a fighter DECLINES random drug testing that was offered FREE OF CHARGE, you cannot sit here and say that is NOT su****ious either.

Even though Marquez is su****ious, at least with his fight with Tim Bradley, he actually went through with random drug testing. Both Alvarado and Marquez is suspect.
