I used to dislike Froch, boarderline hated the guy, because before he'd ever done anything in the Ring he did a lot of talking. Was very arrogant although he'd done nothing in the sport. This was when he was fighting domestic level.

I also didn't rate him at all. Never thought he'd ever win a world title.

He kept constantly proving me wrong, predicted him to lose to Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Abraham, Bute and he proved me wrong every time.

He's a guy that will literally fight anybody. He has a huge heart, a warrior, great work ethic and achieved great things in the sport.

For those reasons, he's somehow managed to become one of my favourite active fighters.

Froch is certainly a warrior with tremendous heart and a granite chin

But honest to goodness, he is one of the most overrated fighters EVER, IMO. Really mean no disrespect to Froch. But he fights similar to a drunk caveman/barroom brawler. Not very skilled aside from his chin and stamina. Decent power but no other real boxing skills IMHO

That said, he would fight anyone anywhere at anytime. And he is a true warrior, no doibt

Fighters are rated on who they beat, not on an abstract assessment of skills.

If anything Froch is underrated because he doesn't match up to how you're "supposed" to do it, yet still wins.

Underdog who fights hard....seems down to Earth....got a bad bytch that idolizes him...has delivered a lot of action fights.

I wish I met him when he fought in ATC (when he came through Grand Central in NYC). He's my favorite active fighter.

he takes on all comers and puts on what most people consider entertaining fights. i think the fact that he is one of boxings biggest overachievers is endearing to a lot of people as well, most fighters are blue collar guys but some are more talented than others. froch got to where he is at through hard work, toughness and call me crazy but humility. he can be as arrogant as they come, but he approaches challenges in a humble way being a good listener and a hard worker.

I've seen a lot of his interviews and all that comes across is this smug as hell arrogant man who thinks he's the ***** in whichever room he steps in. Not only that but he claims to not like Ali because of the rope a dope against Foreman but fails to recognise Ali's fighting style before the 3 year ban.

What is the point of this thread?

He's alright, just that crooked nose buggers me oftentimes. I'd hoped Kessler would of broken it.

and who beats you back, as well as the manner in which it transpires. froch is the only elite fighter in the win column of kesslers resume and ward outclassed him with one hand.

im not saying i agree that froch is overrated, i dont. but he isnt underrated either. he is one of the best fighters in a good division, there are many better fighters who dont get the same props he does.

lets keep in mind that part of the reason all these fighters are so eager to fight him is because he looks so unimpressive, many other fighters arent so lucky. look at ward, once he took the whole division to school (and flunked them) he has been having a hard time getting fights. when he was just a talented guy with a great amateur pedigree guys still questioned his heart and chin so they wanted a piece of him. now, not so much.
