What makes people like Carl Froch?

I get that he takes on all comers and has done well in the boxing world which is good for the sport and himself.

I've seen a lot of his interviews and all that comes across is this smug as hell arrogant man who thinks he's the ***** in whichever room he steps in. Not only that but he claims to not like Ali because of the rope a dope against Foreman but fails to recognise Ali's fighting style before the 3 year ban.

I don't see him as smug and arrogant, I think that's a misperception.

He talks up his boxing career, but so do a lot of fighters and he has a lot to be proud of in terms of achievements.

    I don't mind Groves either, but I don't think he's a take on all-comers sort of fighter.

He's the ultimate overachiever, he fights everyone, and he's in exciting fights. I don't care about his talk because he will sign to get in the ring with you and prove it in a heartbeat.

He's an exciting warrior. He's also less talented than most other world class boxers, but makes up for his technical limitations with pure guts & heart. I like that.

+ the reach of a heavyweight

People look at Froch and think, not technical, slow sluggish.
Then they face him and see: Not slow, his reach is just that long and they get hit all night long with punches they thought they are out of reach.

^^This his long jab is an excellent weapon, but for some reason in the groves fight he was throwing it with no confidence at all, I hope he whips that jab out stingingly and controls the distance in this fight.

I didn't know about the whole Ali thing but no one's perfect.

Here are a few reasons I like Froch:

                fighting pascal
                fighting dirrell
                fighting abraham
                fighting kessler 2x
                fighting groves
                fighting ward
                fighting taylor

mainly it's the fact that whoever the fans want him to fight he fights.

This. I'd much rather someone appear arrogant outside the ring and have Froch attitude to fighting the best than be humble outside the ring and avoid people inside it. Also his fights against Kessler, Groves, Taylor, Bute, Pascal were all FOTY candidates.
