FLoyd's opponents appear to have no chance to beat floyd in a boxing match if you listen to the analysts, the corners, and the NSB collective. Every fight it is suggested it be a brawl, ugly etc etc. to nuetralize floyd's speed advantage and to prevent the fight from being fought at a distance where floyd's boxing skill would control the fight.

Yes, floyd keeps the forearm up and uses it to push people off. Yes he holds in close. Is it right, no. when watching his fights how can you be mad at floyd for using tactics that that nuetralize the opponents dirtiness in order to give himself the best chance to win?

The question was asked if I think he does it too much, my answer was yes and the Floyd fans were butthurt over it.

As a trainer, I tell my fighters to do what is necessary to win fights, legal of course but if the ref allows holding and they are in trouble, then hold.

Floyd is the MJ of boxing, he's allowed to do what other fighters cannot do. It's like when Kobe palms the ball, or MJ travels, it's just allowed.

If it was another fighter, it wouldn't be allowed and you can clearly see that when Broner was doing it too much to Maidana in their fight. He was at risk and should have gotten a point taken from him and it never happened. Even though he was given damn near a dozen warnings...lol

Also, we are arguing semantics in thinking "holding" and "clinching" are any different.

If you look at the rules in boxing, they are technically illegal. It's the amount of holding or "clinching" that is done that is going to be penalized.

It's a part of boxing and always has been, it's just when it's done too much when people have an issue with it and when it becomes "illegal".

Klitchko literally holds the head down and grabs also as soon as a fighter gets too close, but they allow him to do it so he does it.
