Why are people still using fight math??? Styles make fights...Fight math is ****** and irrelevant.

Don't get me wrong I think Lara is overrated, but we know Canelo sucks ass against southpaws and doesn't throw combinations so I think Lara has a decent chance.

Lol, donaire was #5 p4p when rigo schooled him. Canelo isn't even in the p4p top 10 list.

I'd be surprised if Lara beat Canelo.

Despite all that he does have a good shot but I ain't picking him, I think Canelo will counter that measuring jab or catch him when he brings it back low, I think he'll do decently well in the center of the ring and I think he'll break through the middle as Lara goes into a shell. Just some of the things I see.
Interesting break down. I can see that happening. I think it's a 50/50 fight. I can see Lara keeping the distance and jabbing and catching Canelo with straight lefts. I can even see him even hurting Canelo from an accumulation of punches and fatigue. I can also see Canelo doing what you said. I think both fighters will have their moments. Can't wait.

I agree he looks uncomfortable fighting on the inside and does tend to shell up on combinations. He is also economical with his punches and doesn't throw enough combinations IMO. That can lose him rounds if Canelo is being more active than him, Canelo can win those on activity alone. Unlike Mayweather who knows when and how to score when necessary, Lara doesn't do that.

However he does have his strengths. He's very mobile and hard to hit because of it. That can fatigue a fighter like Canelo who has a history of gassing out in the later rounds. Also he has a solid straight left that can land with authority. He also has decent hand speed on top of that. Someone said that he's one dimensional and for some people thats more than enough. I agree, look at Felix Trinidad. He lived off of his left hook. He did more than well in his career. However whenever he faced a boxer who can neutralize it (De la Hoya, Hopkins, Wright) he was beat. So sometimes its enough for a fighter but sometimes it can be taken away and they're left with nothing.

I do agree with the premise that he is overrated by a population of the die hard boxing fans. I think they give too much credit for him being taught in the Cuban school of boxing and his controversial loss to PWill. Also guys who are overlooked and under appreciated by the casual fan and the mainstream usually get a bit of hype from the hardcore fans. Same thing happens in music, writing, art, etc. However just because he's a bit overrated doesn't mean he isn't good. I'm split on this fight. I like both guys and I think it's a 50/50 fight.

its a good comparison in some ways and others not canelo is far better then donaire and rigo is better then lara but in terms of what people are saying ya its pretty dead on.

agreed his stock also shot up because before maidana went rough and tumble with floyd he was like the new hope for people who wanted to see floyd lose and his fans wanted see in a good fight. They thought his boxing ability and size would give mayweather more trouble then anyone else me included at times. I for one am excited for this fight it could end up being the perfect mesh of styles. Its got a chance to be a 2 part fight with canelo winning the beginning and lara the end could also go back n fourth. Where are they fighting at anyway? mgm grand?

So you are agreeing with me about Lara's legs? Kinda makes me question that part of him. The rest is all good except that his work rate needs to pick up. If he has a low work rate, judges may give it to Canelo.
                    I was directing to YOU.

Lara's legs may be thin or not but theyre obviously strong enough. Or did you not watch the Angulo fight? And if you need further reference then go watch the Vanes weigh in and look at his legs when he steps on the scale.
