    ummm..yes.

Seems to be standard practice. However it should be illegal (it probably is under the Ali act but nobody cares to enforce it). However, they aren't obligated to break the bank only to have him leave afterwards.

But Jr lost to Sergio on PPV, then had to take two tries to get a definitive win against Vera.

$7m for GGG, then $5-10m option for his next fight is top money.

It's no coincidence that there are so many lawsuits in boxing. Nobody ever leaves their promoter easily.

That Haymon/$47 million story wasn't exactly a secret after it came out.

              https://es-us.deportes.yahoo.com/blo...17-boxing.html

Word gets out that Haymon is interested in Junior and you don't think Top Rank's going to take steps to "protect their investment"?

Come on, Arum's been around too long for that.

Why'd that story even come out? The Chavez people think it was going to help them negotiating with Top Rank? Seems to have had the adverse affect.

Let's think about this realisticly, GG is willing to move up in weight to fight Chavez. Who do you guys really believe is the headliner here. Chavez doesn't want to be trapped into a long term deal with Arum and if he could possibly pull a Cotto and be a free agent then this is the smartest thing he's done in his whole career. Chavez vs. GG on PPv Chavez should be making at least 5 mill and GG 2.5. That's the truth.

It's fine that Chavez Jr. wants to be a free agent...but he's not.

Not til October 2015, if Arum/Top Rank are correct...and I'd put money on them being right about it.

But Jr is not fighting GGG on Boxing After Dark though, he's fighting him on HBO PPV.
If Jr thinks so highly of his ability to sell, then why not prove it... He has PPV upside money. $2.5m purse + PPV upside.

wait people seriously having a go? arum pays his guys better than any other promoter

look at floyd and chino, 1.5m to chino lol, thats it! chavez was getting 2.5m plus ppv bonus, would have made double most likely

al haymon and richard are kunts, cannot wait until they are dead, hopefully it happens soon to save boxing
