I wonder if the suspension added time to his sentence.

Boxers need to get better contract lawyers it seems
Yeah, but what throws me off is the last paragraph, where Bob says, if he's leaving after the fight, I see no reason to give him a large sum. So it sounds like he has the option to leave, and Bob can't make him stay, so he's withholding money. maybe i'm reaching but its not that clear to me.

So instead he will sit out for over a year, sounds like another ****** decision by Chavez, one of many in his career. Who on earth can Haymon get for him for that sort of money?? Getting beat by Stevenson at LHW doesn't seem all that smart.

I think Chavez realized that him taking an ass whooping wouldn't be beneficial for his career.
bro they offered him the same as the vera fight come on man you got to know that aint right. that is how it works boxers change promoters and managers all the time its a business chavez also made arum alot of money

ya it be different if they were offering extra for an extension but only giving him a third of what hes worth? they are making it seem like the one without the extension is what hes really worth which there is no way they are literally trying to force him into signing an extension which is strange you would think it be bad business as other fighters looking for promotions will see this kind of thing

I thought someone posted that the offer without extension was $2.5m + PPV upside, which is the same deal as he got for the Martinez fight that he LOST by the way.

IMO the real problem is him getting $2.5 to fight Vera. Now he gets a fight with GGG and u know he's gonna want double that atleast. Smh idk why he gets paid so much anyway to begin with.

IMO he didn't want to fight GGG. Heck $2.5 is more than what Maidana got vs Mayweather.

Thats apples to oranges tho bro. Maidana wasn't, and will never be the A side, barring a surprising KO of Mayweather in a rematch.

The match was targeted for July 19th at the Forum in Los Angeles but now appears to be a dead issue with both fighters heading in different directions.

Chavez was willing to take the fight, but only as long as Top Rank provided no promotional contract extension in the agreement. Chavez believes his contract expires by the end of the year and Top Rank claims to have him until October 2015.

Where does he get the "600 thousand homes against [Sergio] Martinez [on pay-per-view]" number from?

                    HBO reported 475,000 ppv buys.

Anonymous posts a number and unanimous takes off running. Everything comes out of that purse and a lot of people get paid out of it. Why not demand more for 3G, that's harder work than Vera. At least on paper, since Jr is really a cruiser weight.
