Comments Thread For: Pound For Pound Update: Mayweather Still Undefeated

There have been changes in the months since the last update but one thing remains the same: Floyd Mayweather is still undefeated.

It was closer this time though.

Mayweather had his hands full with rugged Marcos Maidana in their Welterweight unification tilt and had to call on all his skills to forge his latest win. Was the competitive contest enough to move the top slot?

Below Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao moves up on the force of his win over Timothy Bradley while Bradley’s loss sees him slip a spot behind the best fighter in the world most of the US isn’t seeing.

I disagree with Garcia still being on there, and I've probably said a dozen times now how I feel about Ward still being ranked so high, but otherwise I like it. I usually do like Boxing Scene's p4p list.

Ward just fought in November. I understand inactivity and that could budge him later this year. As to Garcia, I was torn on where to lean with that. I didn't think him winning Herrera was bad or anything, just close (and I thought Herrera might make it close going in though he exceeded what I thought). Uchiyama is sort of next out right now for me.

He's fought but he's done nothing of note since 2011.

Gonzalez Top 5 P4P absolutely ludicrous IMO.

Don't agree with him being in the Top 10 at all either.

chino should be on this list since he beat mayweather, at least in the eyes of many

Still active enough for me to look first and how good he is. I mean, it's not that much more inactive than lots of guys.

Gonzalez is a fantastic fighter with more than enough quality wins to compliment the eye test. Special talent. I can see where one would disagree, but that is sort of the point of this whole exercise.

Floyd shouldn't even be on that list after losing to maidana. An 18-1 underdog.
