Yes, he would have a better chance had he wore those NSAC approved gloves, you know the red ones. I'm not insinuating he have to use the blue one cause the NSAC deemed that it was illegal thus approving the red ones for it has more padded than the customized ones. Have you seen those solid body punches? Have you seen some of the upper cuts and right over the top that landed? Had his previous opponents that got hit by those punches got wobbled or been dropped? I can't change your mind of agreeing with me or something, but the obvious was there. Ring size, and no PUNCHERS gloves are allowed to be use by a PUNCHER? think about it.

I totally agree about the commission approved red gloves but who's to say that those would have done more damage or that the fight would have played out the same? We don't know that a certain pair of gloves would have changed the outcome. This was an exciting fight as it was so why diminish the fight by saying "what if"? I respect your opinion of the events but to say a true "puncher" needed punching gloves to win is a yoga stretch. Any true "puncher" can punch in any gloves, also it's not like Maidana has went on a rampage knocking out elite caliber opponents with his "puncher" gloves so what makes you think he would KO a guy who has never been ko'ed? I will go even further and ask you: What elite fighter has Marcos ever defeated or knocked out while wearing his "punchers" gloves?? Please don't say Broner.

Oh I do, but the ref didn't deduct a point, didn't we instructed by our trainer in the gym that unless you get warned twice keep doing it as long as you can get away with it? Both are dirty and a lot of holding. Blame the ref not the fighters.

I agree with this post and the ref was terrible in this fight. Weeks is usually a good ref but I feel he didn't officiate the fight correctly in certain instances like that intentional low blow, Weeks was maybe 5 feet away and did nothing about it.

Agree, Maidana clearly couldn't take what Mayweather was giving him in the 1st round and decided to hold and hit him low when the tides quickly started to shift. The rematch should be fun, I expect much of the same with Mayweather being sharper.

Maidana used his dirtiness to keep Mayweather more occupied with defending, I don't see him getting away with it as much in the rematch, that should allow Mayweather to be sharper. I agree with you though, Maidana will give him some problems but nothing serious.
