It also appears that anyone who has some minimal success with landing more punches than others have in the past that it translates to them beating Mayweather. I personally didn't view the fight that way, I'm not hating on Maidanas performance and effort but I don't feel he won the fight.
They know he didn't win the fight. But he looked more aggressive and wilder than Floyd's previous opponents so that makes him a winner in their book.

Mayweather was bigger than Marquez and clearly looked it. He even paid Marquez for exceeding the weight limit during weigh-in.
Also, Juan had never fought above 135 before that fight. Maidana made weight to fight Floyd, so him rehydrating closer to his natural weight didn't have the same impact as Floyd not depleting himself to make weight for the Marquez fight. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/box...ory?id=4485941

True, but he's the one who called Floyd out so he had to move up to get the fight.

If I am not mistaken, maidana was heavier than all of his opponents that Floyd fought at 154lbs. Not many people are mentioning the weight disparity between the two. I also feel that many fans including the media aren't bringing up the very dirty tactics that maidana tried to impose in the ring. I know Floyd uses elbows to create space at times but the dirty tactics maidana used blatantly throughout the entire fight are being overlooked and under-acknowledged. I expect a completely different fight if a rematch occurs.

                  Can't wait for the rematch.

                  .
Agree, Maidana clearly couldn't take what Mayweather was giving him in the 1st round and decided to hold and hit him low when the tides quickly started to shift. The rematch should be fun, I expect much of the same with Mayweather being sharper.

Actually I thought he was showing that Floyd ran more than he fought

Without a doubt. True fans and the boxing pros acknowledge what Floyd was able to do despite the weight disparity and the dirty fighting of his opponent.

I mentioned before, Maidana may have beaten any other fighter that night except Floyd.
