Agree, Maidana clearly couldn't take what Mayweather was giving him in the 1st round and decided to hold and hit him low when the tides quickly started to shift. The rematch should be fun, I expect much of the same with Mayweather being sharper.

It was so blatant that even Al Bernstein noticed all the stuff Maidana was getting away with and suggested a point be taken away if he kept it up.

But it's all good. Maidana was instructed to fight that way at the risk of being disqualified.

Mayweather was bigger than Marquez and clearly looked it. He even paid Marquez for exceeding the weight limit during weigh-in.
Also, Juan had never fought above 135 before that fight. Maidana made weight to fight Floyd, so him rehydrating closer to his natural weight didn't have the same impact as Floyd not depleting himself to make weight for the Marquez fight.

I didn't like that weight move that Floyd pulled but in all fairness he was coming off a 19 month layoff against the #2P4P fighter in the sport. I don't want to turn this into a Floyd vs Manny comparison but Manny jumped from 135 to 147, the difference was that he was fighting DLH who happened to be in his last fight of his career and JMM was moving up to fight Floyd. Also, JMM in 2009 didn't have that Memo guy in his camp. It appears you are insinuating that JMM would have made the fight closer than the 12-0 shut out had he been more acclimated to the weight?? I would have to disagree because I feel even with Mayweather's dominance in the fight vs the Pound for Pound #2 guy at the time, he took it easy on JMM. What do do you think?
