How about Thurman? Matthysse, etc. GBP can only afford undercard fights.

So no. GBP makes very little money off of Mayweather fights. Oscar is trying to fix things.
I 100% agree. And I am not buying Schaeffer's BS about not wanting to work with Arum. I mean, I don't like Arum either, but a promoter is a promoter and he does what he must to make the most money for the company - and if that means working with people ya' don't like, then tooo bad!

Maybe I should have said that Oscar doesn't have the business sense to run his own company.

And...Oscar knows he can't run that company as well as a Schaeffer or an Arum. As a result, that's why he assured people that Schaeffer can be replaced....and it wouldn't really be that hard (I can think of 2 or 3 small-time promoters that can step up until a permanent replacement is found). Now...I think that is pretty good business sense. I mean, Oscar is honest with himself about his strengths and weaknesses. Also, Oscar is trying to put an end to the Promoter Wars - those useless wastes of time and money. Smart thinking. Good Business.

I can feel the fear from the Floyd Fans concerning what Oscar will do next, for they know whatever it is, it won't be good for Floyd, and Floyd is powerless to stop it.

Thanks to Arum and De La Hoya, things are about to change in Boxing, and those that refuse to change with them will be history.

Oscar was a bad mother ***er in the ring, but I also think he missed out on a lot of love in his personal life especially from his father. His mother died when he was young and that affected him as well.

I see this behavior a lot among people who were never allowed to do things on their own early in life. Hopefully Oscar gets his **** together because I think down deep he's a good person and I think Sheafer is going to try and *** him over behind his back.

I met Sheafer in Miami for the Canelo vs Mayweather presser and he came off as one slimy mother ***er.
Kudos on the meaningful post. This was a good analagy of why he may be so fkd!

Oscar says everything a fan wants to hear, but I'm not sure if Schaefer feels the same way..

Will be interesting how this all unfolds... The canelo-manny fight would be a blockbuster but doesn't make sense for a sports perspective.. Canelo is so much bigger, I don't see the point in manny getting beat up by a young lion.

Oscar's move to do business with Arum is very laudable. Richard's reason to not work with Bob is personal. Boxing, being a business, should not be derailed by personal hurts especially when these hurts hold great fights to materialize.

                    Unifying Boxing

As amazing as Oscar was being a PPV king and taking on all comers and being a great boxer, he has a chance to unify boxing and do things that some people thing is impossible and really not only make the fans happy, but take boxing to a new level. His involvement in boxing now, might make him a second hall of fame career and maybe the most important.

GBP makes more money associating with Arum than with Mayweather. Schaefer just don't have balls to say, "F you," to Money Mayweather, "if you need us, then share some of your guarantee." Oscar don't give a **** about Mayweather, who is not making their company financially richer. GBP makes 20 times more on Haymon-less Canelo fights. If you recall, Schaefer was so desperate in making the Cotto vs Alvarez fight. That's probably the fight that would lift them up from the financial mess they're in.
