Schaefer built the company, not that Oscar is sober he thinks he is a business man. This is going to kill GBP, Oscar is in no position to run a hundred million dollar company.

They're making very little money on Mayweather fights. If Money Mayweather had his way, he would get rid of GBP. The Greedy Team is too greedy to share profits. GBP hasn't been pumping out fights since the Mayweather hype train. Many of their fighters are on a long layoff. Matthysse, Khan, Guerrero, Berto and many others are now averaging one fight a year. Garcia, Broner, Matthysse, Berto, Guerrero, Lopez, Ortiz, Peterson, Alexander, Maidana, Porter, Thurman... They don't fight each other. Who was Broner's last fight? Who was Garcia's last fight? How about Thurman? Matthysse, etc. GBP can only afford undercard fights.

So no. GBP makes very little money off of Mayweather fights. Oscar is trying to fix things.

TBH from a business standpoint; Boxing Promotional companies (e.g., Top Rank and Golden Boy) seem to operate in a volatile manner - very inconsistent and ultimately don't have a sense of uniformity within an organization. That lack of clearly defined goals and/or vision can be the demise or the split of a company. Personally, I'd love to sit in a quarterly meeting and hear the operational / financial aspects of Golden Boy (or Top Rank). Unfortunately, you have an individual ("owner" in De La Hoya) who is shaking off from a public scandal which dampers his and Golden Boy's credibility coupled with a CEO in Scheafer who seems to work exclusively with Al Haymon managed fighters. Something is going to give.....

If I had to choose between doing business with Schaefer or Arum, I'd go with Arum.

The same fans bashing ODLH for reaching out to bob is the same people who will point to the Cold War on why the mega fight cannot be done.

I agree with everything that you wrote except for the Schaefer Will *** him over part. While Oscar went on his spoiled tantrums and rehabs. It was Schaefer that grabbed the bull by the horns and rode goldenboy into the powerful company that it is. Had it not been for Schaefer. Godly would've fallen.

...but GBP's success since oscar's first absence around 2011 has been largely due to relinquishing influence to Haymon. The whole GBP model with DLH, BHop, Shane, Ricky and Winky getting close to the local communities and developing fighters was jettisoned in favour of old fashioned power brokering and careful protectionist matchmaking. Maybe it's the only model that works, but it ain't schaefer so much as Haymon and Greenburg.

The Cold War is just the latest layer of why the fight will never happen.
Even if there was no "Cold War" Half the fights that people think would happen would not. Even worst all the great fights we have seen happened due to this competition probably would have not happened.
