Who said Floyd was greater than Ali? I'm just pointing out that Floyd is undefeated. Ali might not have cared what gloves his opponent was wearing, but Ali's mental state and physical condition (not to mention financial situation) is exactly what Floyd is trying to avoid.

NOBODY likes when they're guy loses...but dang...

I've heard more complaining from Maidana than I have from Mayweather. Maidana lost. No excuses. If they fight again, and Maidana hits Mayweather...in legal places...he'll win. If you can only box with certain gloves, you have the right to say "no" the fight. If you say yes, you're saying you feel you can beat the other guy if the playing surface is level. That means that if one guy was pushy enough to demand clown shoes -- and you agreed...then as long as you both come to the ring in clown shoes...then it's on. So what you can't dance around. The other guy can't dance around either. If one guy clearly hit the other guy more though, are we really prepared to give the other guy the fight because he couldn't wear his favorite gloves? I think Maidana is a very good fighter. I thought he fought a great fight. I think he's just not quite as good as Mayweather. I don't know, maybe next year he will be. Maybe Mayweather fought Maidana's fight the 1st time, and will fight the Mayweather way if there's a rematch. I've seen it happen (Leonard/Duran). Questionable blows aside, in the ring Maidana was definitely not a punk. To blame the gloves for losing against a guy that's 40 something and 0, is a punk move. I can give you hundreds of examples over the years, of my favorite player/fighter/team losing, when I wanted them to win. That happens sometimes. Mayweather's a crybaby, a whiner? Maybe his next opponent should try out hitting him.
